  • Description

No One Writes to the Colonel is a poignant novella written by the Nobel Prize winning writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

    Summary of the Book

Unlike most of Garcia’s works, No One Writes to the Colonel is not based on the theme of magic realism. It is the story of a retired, penurious colonel living with his asthmatic wife. They have lost their son to political tyranny in their town. Being a veteran of the Thousand Days’ War, he still hopes to get the pension he deserves, which was promised about fifteen years before. The chief characters of the story are not named, which adds to the insignificant individual life in Colombia, especially in those times.

    Fair

The book was delivered in good condition. Though not a great one to read, but enjoyed it. Nodoubtly an Ok novella for a passive reader, but for me it is just over charged.
