Loved it. My decision was absolutely correct. Depending on my requirements the phone is my all time favorite device. The Slim Uni-body shaped, good Camera performance, strong Social integration & Nokia Mix Radio are key features of the device.
And also special thanks to flipkart.. The first ever online shopping of my life, I was very tensed but all went well..
Awesome performance. Bought this for my Bro..
* No lagging when hardly used. Amazing Camera quality (Carl Zeiss Tessar Lens)
* Less weight, Heavy performance mobile
For all flipkart users, Dont compare any windows phones with android phones. Each one is different in their platforms. I agree many apps free in android, but few of those apps only free and available in windows. Because Android is fully open source. anyone can create an app and release it. see its not secure and reliable, your data or details may spread over anywhere. But in windows mostly every apps has been tested and comes with reliable. Android is purely Linux, its like Ubuntu OS. But windows is not like that. Here I am agree they are floating on our money. But onething if we need lagless, reliable, longlife mobile means should go to windows phones. If you are a androidian its somewhat difficult to use in first, afterthat its not a matter. If your are not a androidian you definitely like windows phones.
Be clear what you are doing. If you planned to buy a mobile phone, buy as your needs of apps.
I was in the middle of a dilemna of choosing between the platforms - android/windows/blackberry/iOS.
However, I choose to go ahead with a more prioprietory and seucre platform...something that would not be too restrictive like the iOS and Blackberry or too open-ended like an android...but was also not too sure of the windows platform, as not to many users could be seen using a windows phone. However, years of working on windows environment (onthe PCs and laptops), drive me to bestow trust the windows phone platform. The only issue that kept nagging that popular opinion being windows platform had far less apps that and android platform...but when I did a reality check (by browshing the windows phone portal) I realised that bulk of the popular apps that most android users flaunt are also available on the windows platform. So, that finalised my search for the OS. After the OS was selected (windows 8)...it was rather easy to select the phone, as not much choice was available (with Dell having withdrawn officially from the consumer phones market). Nokia...had to be trusted. The Lumia 720, came at good price, and the specs were ok with me...though most of the andorid phones at that range would offer 1 GB RAM, whereas the Lumia 720 comes with 512MB RAM...but I understand...waht matters how much is the OS optimised to take advantage of the RAM. And the Windows 8 runs just fine with 512 MB of RAM. Popular android apps like google maps, google search. g-talk have been installed on the Lumia 720, and these work seamless. Other apps like 'whatsapp', skype are also doing well on this device. Besides, there are hosts of Windows phone apps that are installed on this phone, customised to my needs. However, I am nost impresed with the Nokia Here Maps, especially their offline capability (i.e., when the data-connection is off). Using the Livesight feature on the Here Maps, I could pause the view and freeze the screen to browse the area around me and trace nearby landmarks - hotels, apartments, office buildings, restaurents, ATMSs, schools...what not!
To summarise..I am happy with my Lumia 720.
Lumia and windows Phone 8 is the best combination one can have at budget.
You cannot get the experience in the same price range in android phones.
Nokia maps and here drive are amazing,
camera with carl zeiss lens takes truly detailed images and with proper clarity.
battery backup is good.
Bought this as a gift for my wife's birthday... Nothing short of Wow! Its got everything that you can expect from a phone at this budget. Good battery (2000mah), good screen, great form factor with cornered gorilla glass... and ofcourse the touch response is amazingly silky smooth!!! Camera produces pretty good images for all outdoor shots... low light imaging is slightly grainy though....
I have been using iOs and Android products myself and feel Windows has really caught up with them apart from apps though. But again you have all those basics apps like Facebook, Skype, Twitter, WhatsApp and few games like temple run (not 2 though), NFS, Angry Birds working smoothly and for FREE!
Conclusion: Lumia 720 is a value for money stuff... and I bet you wouldn't regret buying this one for sure.
I ordered Nokia Lumia 720 phone on 13-Nov-2013 and got it on 14-Nov-2013. Good shipment service by Flipkart.
Now about Nokia Lumia 720 - as someone said, past performance doesn't guarantee the future performance.
Same has happened. Within first few couple of days I started facing voice fading issue. Connected with Nokia Care and Customer Care. They suggested to change the SIM, then suggested that network in the area is not appropriate. Tried various solutions provided and finally frustrated me gave it to Nokia Care. They did something and gave it back to me in 2 hours time.
Unfortunately, problem remains.
And from past 15 days, there was a new problem. Touch pad was behaving rudely. When I was pressing any button it wasn't following command and when no command was given touchpad was performing command on its own.
Rare, very rare in my experience with Nokia, but I must say, either the specific product was faulty or Nokia Lumia 720 itself is with lots of problem.
Other than these two, which are prime, no other problems (or shall I say no scope for other problems).
Seems like I wasted my money on it.
I bought it from a Flipkart.com recently, and am loving it! I don't understand how I used android for so long, it just seems clunky! Very fast and responsive, amazing camera apps, photo editor. Nokia Store allows me to freely download music, which is truly amazing.
Some people say they can't find file manager: why do you want it? Whatever on your SD card/phone you can automatically view in photos/music/etc.
People are complaining about RAM too. Don't speak about stuff you haven't experienced. Windows is the master of efficiency, and RAM doesn't matter at all. If you're so worried about keeping ALL APPS on at all times, buy an iPhone. Don't hate on this lovely semi-budget phone.
My advice to the people not enjoying Windows: make sure you have the amber update, makes a ton of difference.
Overall, a breath of fresh air coming from android.
i am using this phone from more than 4 months i must admit that i made a right choice to buy this phone smooth touch plenty off apps which we needed for daly purpose people might get in to details that windows has this and that limitations easy tranfer of files fm is working and display is so good and its main usp is its hardware go for it you will not regret that
