Nokia why you want to axing your own feet ?

Nokia are you serious or lost your mind ? I don't know who going to buy this phone at this price when 920 released and yeah maybe you delay the release date as long as you want but at 33k it will not clear up your unsold stock which you plan to dump in India.

Hah! You are not Apple.inc, You know the India is price sensitive market & if you want to clear up your stock price it for 16-18k and this handset will sell.

Your biggest and loyal market is India & Asia but there is a huge portion eaten by Samsung with it's driods lineup, when ppl really want this phone it is not here, but now at this price it is really

INSANE !!!!

Why would you buy it?

This phone has some wonderful features. Its slick, fast and wonderful to use. But, why would you buy it now? Nokia just announced its new models Lumia 820 and 920 with Windows 8. It makes no sense, to buy the 900 now, that too for a whopping Rs.32999!

Wait for the 820 and the 920.

Misinformed people

I would urge everyone to visit nearby Nokia Priority Dealer and use Nokia 800/900 for a while.
What you will realise is that, a phone need not have a quadcore processor. Even with a single core processor you can find a zippy, snappy performance.

[ After the launch of Quadcore based phones, NVIDIA's statement was - there is no real need for quadcore processors in the market ]

Mango OS may not offer you 80-90% customisation like Android does, nor can it give you a VERY strong ecosystem like Apple. But what it does offer you is superb simplicity. I have been using Lumia 800 since Jan '12. I haven't regretted it one bit.
People Hub, Camera and Battery Life have won me over.

I would agree that price point is one of those mistakes Nokia should have avoided. But users can always check with Flipkart and other sellers for excellent deals.

More importantly, the current Lumia lineup will be getting a major 7.8 update in the near future. Something to look forward to.

Now there'll be cynics who will say "its useless etc etc".
In my experience - we don't need 5million apps everyday. We need a phone to call people, text people, send/ receive emails, stay in touch with a certain number of people (with some details), take some good pictures, listen to some music - Lumia phones seem to do all of that without much fuss.

This is not time for Lumia

This is truly a marvelous phone. It looks great, hardware is good. OS is different and amazing.

But beware this is not good time to get into Lumia bandwagon. This is really disappointing that Nokia did not launch this phone during it's peek time but launching to finish the inventory in India.

Users will not be able to upgrade to Windows phone 8. Future apps might not work in this phone.

Wait for Lumia 920 to Launch if you want to buy Lumia.

Nokia Missed a trick here

I voted this phone 5 stars Only due to the performance and specifications... but regarding pricing I'm amazed how could it go beyond 30000... Worst case it should sell for 18-20000 or Nokia's old strategy to for for higher price initially and then lower it...maybe 25000..but not 32999 ... Seriously WINDOWS PHONE IS AWESOME ...A WHOLE NEW EVOLUTION .. but Lumia 920 will be out Oct last week ... Wait for it ... That phone is the Best I've ever seen..It beats iPhone 5 ...But people if You want this phone...then wait till price drops ..

Clearing a few things

First thing: I have not used this phone yet, but I have been using WP7 and WP 7.5 for a year now. I have a Samsung Omnia W. Why should you buy this phone? 1. Windows Phone 8 is not ready yet (rumors are that it has gone to RTM). 2. When it comes to WP in India only Nokia and Samsung are the big players (apart from HTC). 3. Samsung has a bad history of not updating their phone software after release. My Omnia W has not added a single new app in Samsung Zone after I bought the phone, but with Nokia it is completely different. Samsung does not have a decent map app or any exclusive apps to speak of. Since the day I bought my phone, I had a couple of updates from Samsung without mentioning any change logs and that's it. 4. Samsung introduced Omnia M and has taken Omnia W off its charts now. But Nokia still keeps 610, 710, 800 and 900 despite announcing 920 and 820. 5. If you are impatient for the new phones to arrive, you can compare the specs of 820 to 900 and see they are somewhat closer in price points and screen size. 6. We still don't know what Windows Phone 8 holds for us. Microsoft is yet to release a full feature list.
Why not to buy this phone? 1. The phone is pricey. I wouldn't say this is a single core phone and it should be priced low etc, but as it has been introduced late in Indian market it should have been priced at least 5-6k less. 2. You will be stuck with WP 7.8 forever. 3. Some 'cool' features from the other platforms are missing. (But seriously, you know what you are paying for, right? Then why do you write negative reviews after all?)
IMO, WP8 will be released in mid or end of Q1, 2013 in India. If you are desperate for a WP go for 800 or wait for the price of this phone to come down. It will surely be reduced.

Nokia, you're out of your mind!

I'm a Nokia Lumia 800 user and have reviewed it with 5 stars as it is an a great product.

This time Nokia shouldn't have launched the Lumia 900 after it became outdated 2 months ago when Windows 8 was announced. The new Lumia lineup- 820 and 920 have been announced, why launch this phone in one of its most important market in the world!!

Existing Lumia users are already annoyed that there will be no upgrade to Windows 8 and what is Nokia thinking?? They must be out of their mind to launch it now and that too at an astronomical price. I'm sure there wouldn't be more than 500 takers of this phone pan India.

I see the prices plummeting in the next 2 months and there will be absolutely no takers for it!

I love the Lumia, love windows phone and will surely be the first to buy the Lumia 920. The 900 is just a waste of time and money... wish Nokia did its research before launching this phone in India.

Wait for the game-changer 920

Well, this time nokia has just tried to clear their inventory up by dumping this phone in Indian market whereas the much better lumia 920 is just going to be released soon at almost the same pricing and beating all sg-sIII, iphone5 etc. So its a very easy decision to leave it and wait for a while for a better supported WP8 and an all new awesome hardware which demands this one to be half priced now.... Performance wise, it still is a very good phone but not what it is offering...

Its Amazing gadget, with all dezired features.

This is not a review but a kind of free advice and answer to previous questions.
First thing first, Nokia India, this is not at all acceptable that u never never release flgship phones in india. When 900 was a flagship, then u never launched it, and as soon as new flagship announced, u launched it. Cant indians taste the goodness of these phones?
Anyways, Lumia 900 is no doubt an amazing phone.
Those who said 800 do not have front camers, here is the answer.
Those who said screen is small, here is the big one.
Whats more, Nokia announced extra features for all nokia windows phones as an update as wp7.8 which will feature new wp8 like start screen , allmost all camera features introduced with new generation lumia like cinemograph, smartshot 2, new augumanted reality app city lens, counters to track ur mobile data.
And the most important new feature which was a deal breaker specially for indians, MEDIA SHARING VIA BLUETOOTH WILL BE NOW AVAILABLE.
So all and all we can say nokia is trying to merge two os together ie featurefull symbian with the most simple and beautiful windows phone os, which is nice.
But regarding 900, it is highly recommanded to wait a little bit if u want to buy it. It really do not justify its price at this time when next phone is announced. I am sure nokia will reduce its price around 28k and according to roumers, 820 will be priced around 31k and 920 arnd 39k, so betger think what you actually need and then buy.
Thanks Nokia for serving us with awesome technology and innovations.
Do like if you find it helpful.

A good phone, but priced out of market...

I think Nokia has come out with a stylish product. I own an iphone and i found the screen and touch interface quite comparable. Windows 7.5 looks nice and different, though whether it will get upgraded to the latest Windows 8 remains to be seen. Also, with upcoming 820 and 920 launches, will Nokia focus on hardware and software for these models in future? My biggest issue: Pricing! At Rs. 32,000, this simply is not a sensible buy; I can buy a Apple phone for the same! With the festival season on, may be it is something Nokia should think about...
