A tablet meant for geeks - not for the end users and faint-hearted.

I placed order for this product on 11th Jan 2012 and got it delivered by 13th Jan 2012. Once again, a professional and totally hassle-free service from Flipkart!

I wanted a tablet that serves primarily as a good PDF reader. I own Amazon kindle - but PDF documents render with very small fonts making it not so comfortable to read for long hours.

I've been following the developments on Notion Ink Adam for more than a year - there was a lot hype about it back in 2010.

Here's my review on this ...

Notion Ink Adam

I have been using the Adam (3G Wifi) since Feb 2011, and would rate it a 7 out of 10 on performance and a 9 on 10 for price.

The good thing about this product is that unlike the Biggies out there, Notion Ink promises support and upgrades on a regular basis.

While the unit is very usable right from the time you open the box, be warned that unless you are ready to do R&D, you wont be able to get things like "Honeycomb" "Android Market" etc. Non Google markets work, you can sideload .apk f...

A Big Let Down

I had bought the Adam when it was still on a Pre-Order....was part of Pre-Order 2...and after numerous delays got the tablet. But have to admit....from what I was expecting an Ipad competitor it turned out to be a huge disappointment. The only good thing was I managed to sell it off with a few months...incurred a loss for 2-3k but was glad i got rid of it. Main reason being the useless support I got from NI, most of the things didnt work first it was the GPS, then the camera, no updates from ...

Masked Man

I agree with the screen bit. However, the main USP of Notion Ink Tablets are its Transflexive display which allows it to be read even in sunlight - something like a kindle.
This screen has the world enthusiasts looking forward to the tablet. However, it is a small Indian Company and the product and workmanship leaves much to be desired with the company also admitting to hand soldered joints inside the table.
ON the other hand, the tablet is pre-rooted and there a lot of custom ROMS availabl...

Dont buy

This is a work in progress tablet that should not have made it past demo stage.

I have one and it is of such poor quality (build, usage, ergonomics, usefulness) that it serves no practical purpose. Its famed screen is of poor quality too.

Yes, I am familiar with its history and the effort made. I have upgraded the OS and followed the forums all its life. This should not be sold anymore.

Hyped Product that doesn't Deliver

I bought Adam few months ago and got bugged up with the screen viewing angle. Its like how LCD screens used to be 10 years back. Can't watch video clearly as you need to exactly position the device in one angle that gives decent picture quality. Even a little turn is a nightmare as you see only shadows of the image.

The software has lot of bugs and it keeps on shutting down. After getting Android Market access thanks to flashing the ROM I was able to load good apps, but these force close mo...

Horrible experience

Since I have purchased this tablet, I am bogged with one problem after another. Looks like some fresh bunch of kids how have opened this company are testing out at the expense of us customers.
They have pathetic customer support. Only email and no phone nothing.

Decent Tablet, Nothing Great

Using this for more than 6 months Now... Good hardware... But the thing which really spoils everything is the viewing angles of the screen.. They are Just horrible.. Also the updates have been poor, and they have not delivered on anything they have sponsored... Although they say that its upgradable to Ice Cream Sandwich, u never know until its been delivered... Currently it runs Honeycomb 3.0 without hardware acceleration mostly thanks to Tabletroms.. Battery life is just around 6 hours.. All...

1GHz Dual Core-1GBDDR2-1024x600 Screen-3.2MP Camera @23000/- ROFL

If u can really lure some of the top most stupidest people on the earth into buying this prehistoric dinosaur @23000 bucks, then u Notion Ink guyz are definitely under playing yr card. U shud place this "iPad Killer" myth among the >50000 iPhone5 and iPads. Those who'd pay 23000 for this gramophone will no doubt fetch u 50000 as well. After all, yr target buyers all seem to be brainwashed followers. Nice try btw..
