
The authors develop a framework to understand whycertain countries may originally have decided to renounce nuclear weapons andpinpoint some more recent country-specific factors that could give them cause toreconsider. Case studies of eight countries, all long-term stalwarts of thenonproliferation regime, show how even these countries might be forced toreconsider their stand.
