Numerical Methods: Problems & Solutions About the Book:
Is an outline series containing brief text of numerical solution of transcendental and polynomial equations, system of linear algebraic equations and eigenvalue problems, interpolation and approximation, differentiation and integration, ordinary differential equations and complete solutions to about 300 problems. Most of these problems are given as unsolved problems in the authors earlier book. User friendly Turbo Pascal programs for commonly used numerical methods are given in the Appendix. This book can be used as a text/help book both by teachers and students.
About the Author:
Mahinder Kumar Jain (b. 1932) M.A., D.Phil., D.Sc., F.N.A. had been Vice-Chancellor, A.P.S. University, Rewa; was Deputy Director, Professor & Head of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Services Centre at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and Head of the Mathematics Department, University of Mauritius, Reduit, Mauritius. Dr. Jain worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the Institute for Applied Mathematics, University of Hamburg, West Germany during 1957-60. He had been a visiting research faculty/professor at the Imperial College of Science and Technology, London; University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA; University of Karlsruhe, West Germany and University of Illinois, Urbana, USA. Professor Jain is also the author of Numerical Solution of Differential Equations, Wiley Eastern Limited, Publishers.
Satteluri R.K. Iyengar (b. 1941) M.A., M.Tech., Ph.D. is a professor of Mathematics at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. Dr. Iyengar worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the Oxford University Computing Laboratory, U.K. He had been on the visiting faculty at the University of Mosul, Iraq and a visiting fellow at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada.
Rajinder Kumar Jain (b. 1941) M.A., Ph.D. is a professor of Mathematics at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. Dr. Jain worked as a visiting faculty at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada; Cranfield Institute of Technology, U.K., University of Technology, Baghdad, Iraq and RMIT, Australia.
