About Author :
Harnam Singh Verma (b.1942) is a senior sociologist who has worked in such prestigious institutions as the National Insititute of Rural Development, Hyderabad (1965-1971), CIDCO Ltd, Mumbai (1971-1974), Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (1975-1977), Giri Institute of Development Studies, Lucknow (1977-1982) and State Planning Commission, Planning Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh (1982-1993). He was the Member-Secretary-Coordinator of the Expert Committe for Fixation of the Percentage of Reservations for the OBCs, both appointed by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in 1993.
