The Ocean at the End of the Lane is a fantasy novel by Neil Gaiman.

    Summary of the Book

When a middle-aged man returns to his childhood home to attend a funeral, he begins to walk down memory lane. He revisits the farm at the end of the road where he once lived, where he remembers meeting a strange girl called Lettie Hempstock and her family. He hasn’t thought about Lettie in ages, but as he sits by a pond behind the derelict farmhouse, he begins to remember her once again. However, he soon remembers other nightmarish memories which feature Lettie at the eye of the tornado. In this stirring and melancholic tale, Neil Gaiman once again proves he’s the master of the realm of fantasy.

    Gaiman's Masterpiece

Beautifully written, the book is a breath of fresh air; something that is characteristic of Neil Gaiman. He paints his inspiration in ink and leaves his readers with the most raw and potent images he can. The Ocean at the End of the Lane is a magnificent addition to his earlier work and firmly establishes and reaffirms why the author is regarded as one of the finest Fantasy writers alive.

I might be biased in my opinion, but as someone who reads a LOT of fantasy, it's always a pleasure to re...

    Go back to your childhood.

An amazing book. The importance is to the storyline, not the language. So hardcore literary fanatics please stay away. Its all about the innocence and the vivid imagination of a child brought back in a world of magic by Neil Gaiman. A must read for fantasy novel lovers.

    Read at your own risk......

It is a bedtime story you would tell to your nephews so they can sleep... From the starting till the end plot seems very week but the writing style is very good.... There are places in the book where you would not understand the reason behind that particular situation.

I read this book only because it was goodreads fantasy award winner for 2013, never thought it would be that bad....

I would read at your own risk, I won't recommend it...
