The Off-Site Tamasha (English) (Paperback) Price: Rs.100

The Off-Site Tamasha is a book written in a lighter vein by Abhay Nagarajan, which narrates an interesting outing to Kyari by a team of financial advisors consisting of a dominating boss, a meek subordinate, and well-to-do colleague, and what happens between them during the outing.

Summary Of The Book

A hilarious comedy involving three men of different temperaments and status working for the same company, thrown together in the name of a team building exercise, is presented cleverly by the author.

The reluctant subordinate employee hates attending the team building outing with his boring and irritating boss. But his company wants him to attend it. The rich colleague was hired by the company more for personal reasons than his merit. The three men are exposed to team building games. But arguments break out between the colleague and the boss during the games.

These arguments have some comical endings. There occurs a dramatic change in the whole scenario when two mysterious and sexually attractive women arrive on the scene. The three men are drawn towards them with lust. They are obsessed with sex and are yearning to have sexual encounters with the two women. But the men are unaware that the two fatally attractive women are there with a plan of their own. Nobody seems to know who they are or who sent them. Their presence and purpose is a mystery. So is the outcome of the amorous pursuit by the three men. The married boss, the unmarried junior, and the colleague who is rich but not good looking are all hopeful.

The book has been widely read and well received. Nagarajan has mixed comedy and drama with a touch of philosophy. Corporate office go-ers will find many narrations in the book much in common with what happens in their official day to day life.

About Abhay Nagarajan

His experience of working as a financial advisor in the corporate world has helped Abhay Nagarajan in writing this book.

Abhay Nagarajan’s first novel, Corporate Atyaachaar, about the comical journey of an office door-mat, was a bestseller and listed as such by India Today. The Off-Site Tamasha is his second book.

Abhay Nagarajan’s writing has some freshness about it. The name of every character reflects some personality traits in him. His writings have a tilt towards sex and jokes with double meanings. His representation of the average and meek Indian employee appeals to many readers.

Abhay Nagarajan did his schooling at Mumbai and Bangalore. After completing his bachelor’s degree in Commerce, he did his Masters degree in Finance at Delhi University. He took to fiction writing after working for a few years as a financial advisor.

I would have liked to give half star is that was possible !

Its a pathetic excuse for a book. 70 bucks is better spent elsewhere...
The story meanders, the plot is almost unbelievably convoluted and the characters are just too lazy.
I would like a refund.

I have to admit that i was a bit let down by the 1st book-corporate aatyachar, but this book was fun filled.Right from the beginning it captured my attention so much that i finished it off in about 1 and a half days.Every incident mentioned had me ROFL......The face off between HBS and virgin from time to time is the highlight of this book.

The book costed just 80 bucks which makes it a steal!!!

Good for time-pass...

I read the first book (corporate atyaachaar from the same author) and was pretty disappointed. It was a total turn off, but I had already got this book, so I started reading this one.

Firstly, I must say that this book is way better than the first one. While the first one was full of finance and economy, which I obviously don't understand, this one deals with the comic experiences on an office off-site trip to Kyari.

Though the author had this strange ticklish sense of humor, one needs a hell load of patience to get oneself to complete reading this book. Well, I had a great lack of patien...

A light hearted, funny read - Offisite Tamasha

Offsite Tamasha is a nice read on a weekend, the simple story of a team outing is told in a very funny manner,it recounts the experience of a young professional in a team outing , it captures the dynamics of team ,the conflicts, the interactions between people in a humorous fashion. It paints you a satirical picture of the goings on corporate life. Overall a enjoyable read for all the people who like an entertaining short story. You will keep flipping the pages effortlessly impatient for the next dose of laughter as you keep reading on.
