Book: Okie Crystal: Holy Grail Of The Poor My poetry is about celebrating life. Sometimes it is a commentary about something that troubles or perplexes the soul or mind. Sometimes it is a song from the heart, a dance with words. Okies were too poor to have acrystal, a but we had another kind of wealth. I chose the subtitle, Holy Grail of the Poor, because it represents folks who seek the sacred treasures of life. This both defines and contrasts with the ideal of the Okie, a person who seeks to find a better life, to go on a quest to find something indescribably valuable. We are people who had nothing but then discovered at the journeyas end that we had everything. The idea of communion, love, sharing lifeas holy wine with each other, regardless of your place, status, or caste in life, is what is meant by the metaphorical title.
