The Olympus µTOUGH works on a CCD sensor, which shoots images at 12 megapixels. The rear panel of this stylish camera has a 5-way button and a dedicated video recording button. The µTOUGH-3000 is designed to be waterproof up to 3 m, freeze-proof up to -10 degree Celsius, shock-proof up to 1.5 m and dust-proof. Cold winds, dust storms, rain or even a fall won't stop this all-weather camera from taking detailed images. At 159 g, this portable Olympus camera is a fashionable travel gear.
You can also record HD videos on this Olympus TOUGH camera. This point and shoot camera from Olympus works on TruePic III image processor. You can comfortably compose and view images on a 2.7 inch TFT LCD screen with a resolution of 230,000 dots.
Battery and Storage
This Olympus point and shoot camera is powered by rechargeable Li-Ion battery. The Olympus µTOUGH-3000 has an internal memory of 1 GB, which can be extended using SD or SDHC memory cards.To make room for more memories, you can transfer images and videos to a PC or laptop using USB 2.0 cable. With this digital camera, you can watch your HD videos on a big screen HDTV using the mini HDMI (Type C) port.
Performance
Aperture of a camera is the lens opening that controls the amount of light falling on the image sensor. The Olympus digital camera has an aperture range of f/3.5 - 5.1. The µTOUGH-3000 focuses using CCD contrast detection system, which ranges from 0.5 m onwards in Normal mode. In Macro mode, the Olympus 3000 focus from 0.1 m (Wide) and 0.3 m (Tele), while in Super Macro mode the camera is capable of focusing in the range of 0.02 - 0.5 m.The ISO sensitivity of the Olympus µTOUGH-3000 ranges from ISO 64 - 1600. The shutter speed of a camera is the total amount of time the shutter remains open exposing the image sensor to light. The shutter speed of this camera ranges from 1/4 - 1/2000 seconds in Auto mode, which extends to 4 seconds in Night Scene mode. This digital camera also has an inbuilt flash with a range of 0.1 - 4 m (Wide) and 0.3 - 2.7 m (Tele) at ISO 800.
