In view of the great contributions made by Prof G Ram Reddy in the development of Open and Distance learning, Prof G Ram Reddy Memorial Lectures have been organised every year annually on 2nd July since 1996. Very eminent and distinguished personalities deliver these lectures over the years on some very significant and important dimensions of Open and Distance Learning or closely connected contemporary issues. The ten lectures covered in this book hope to strengthen the cause of ODL system and project its unique and important role in ensuring equity in access to quality education at sustainable costs. About Prof G Ram Reddy Born on 4-12-1929 in Andhra Pradesh, Prof Reddy received his higher education in Osmania University and London School of Economics.He held many important positions which include Vice Chancellor of Osmania University, the founder Vice Chancellor of Andhra Pradesh Open University and Indira Gandhi National Open University, Vice-President of the COL and Chairman of University Grants Commission.He established, shaped and nurtured many institutions of higher learning, including two Open Universities, the National Assessment and Accreditation Council in India and the Commonwealth of Learning, Vancouver, Canada.
