THE ORANGE HANGOVER (English) (Paperback) Price: Rs.80

The Orange Hangover is the story of a young guy whose life seems to have turned upside down in every possible way.

Summary Of The Book

The Orange Hangover, a work of fiction by Rahul Saini, features the story of a young architect who has been lucky enough to have led the coolest of lifestyles, with the best of friends for company, a lucrative job in his pocket, and a girlfriend in his arms.

Unfortunately for him, his cool lifestyle is now a thing of the past, as an unforeseen circumstance bundles him off to his small hometown, where good restaurants and cool parties seem to be nowhere in sight. His move also ensures that his friends are a long way off from home and to top it all off, his relationship with his girlfriend is on shaky ground. As if things aren’t bad enough, he manages to embroil himself in a terrible crime. While the whole town thinks of him as nothing but a basket case, there is one girl who seems to understand him. Now, if only she weren’t so tongue-tied.

Being the protagonist, he is expected to follow his heart, win the heart of his dream girl, and be absolved of all crime, which is definitely a tall order for anyone. As for the outcome, only time will tell if he manages to bring his life under control. The book offers a funny take on life, touching on various topics such as learning from one’s experience, standing up for personal values, and helping others in times of need.

The Orange Hangover was published in 2012. It has received mainly positive reviews.

Great Fun !!!

I had the greatest fun while reading this novel, I wished it would never end and would keep on going forever, and I beg the writer to write a sequel of it.

The novel is basically humour. It is smart and witty but underlying in it, is a strong humane message which does not preaches you. Notable is the well crafted story, which flows perfectly. The writer has created a world in a small town and I was amazed how much I lived in its small town world. The books captures the time of economic downfall and the societal prejudices.

Rishabh is a young architect and is fired …ok… he quits from his job and then falls sick and is forcibly moved to his hometown by his mother, so that he can recover. He just not leaves his incredible city life, his girlfriend also breaks up with him, so by the time he reaches his parent’s house, he has nothing left. Though friendly and easy to get along with, Rishabh is basically a loner with insecurities. He has a strong sense of righteousness but his insecurities pulls him down. The book is a journey of its protagonist who transforms from an insecure, cowardly person to a strong and brave human being.

The writer brings out a host of characters, which make the book a fun read. I guess everyone favorite would be Rishabh’s mom.

This book is unlike any other book in market. It is not a love story or a story about one’s professional struggle… or about music. Highly recommended !!

Soul soothing

just received the book yesterday & finished reading it at one go.I must congratulate Rahul for the awesome creation. If it were cricket this would be a maiden hattrick for Rahul.
The best part about the book is the characters you can so identify yourself with.Deep down inside at one level every reader connects to the character, that is a great feat for which authors strive hard & Rahul Saini is an expert in that. The tale is grippy to say the least....progresses at a very very engrossing pace, all along keeping in sync with the soul....a must read....

more fizzzz than what a sachet of ENO in water !!!!!!!!!!! :)

I finished reading the Orange Hangover yesterday.... and it was good... keeping up with rahul's other book this was funny witty and a definite bring-you-out-of-a-bad mood book..... The main chareacter Rishabh almost forces you to imagine that its the author himself(the Architect connection).....The best thing bout the book is that it takes me back to the late 80's and early 90's reminicing things we did back den( i was a kid then)... I strongly recommend that you do read this one... :)

!!! The Orange Hangover !!!!! You need it..

Reading a book and being lost in the world created by the writer is no less than meditation. It’s a light and lovely book whose chapters somewhere connect to chapters from my life and I am sure will connect to yours too. Hope the Orange Hangovers shows its colors and adds to bringing small changes in the way people think which could make a huge difference. Had a great time reading it. You too leave all your worries and get lost in the story of Rishab. I am sure its going to make you smile, laugh and strike just the right chords. Congrats Rahul and keep up the great work!!!

not worth readings this at all

this author has just written up things in a super dramatic way.he is not a good author or if he is then he must be a drama queen in his life.he has exaggerated every scene in this book which does not make it even a bit humourous... (View complete review)

Its a nice book to read at one go

The author have portrayed the love(decently portrayed) and friendship which happens in everyone's life.Personally liked Natasha's part.
the main thing i didnt like was the protagonist actually imagines everything negatively, he starts thinking in unusual way and fears a lot.
the interesting part...
