Five days before Christmas 2001, Scott Downing returns to Panama City Beach, Florida, to enjoy the holidays with his parents. The season's happiness turns to horror when he discovers the murdered bodies of his parents on their kitchen floor. Why would anyone want to kill this loving and compassionate couple who worked for the U.S. State Department? The lasting image of his parent's blood-soaked bodies is entwined with the agonizing statement by the local police that the murders would probably go unsolved.
