Ben Wright was born in 1959 in Bay City, Michigan. The son of a pediatrician father and nurse mother, he was raised in a household where higher education was stressed. With a passion for writing, he attended Central Michigan University, attaining a bachelor's degree in journalism and business in 1981. He later earned a master of business administration degree from Saginaw Valley State University in 1991. While working in the field of accounting, he continued writing both fiction and nonfiction while maintaining a close eye on political developments, the activities of the mainstream media, and the world situation, particularly relating to his beloved United States of America.
