Panasonic DVD-S485 GWK DVD Player

this is a very basic affordable dvd player without any great qualities

pros:
1) slim 'n' sleek
2) average video clarity
3) no noise while playing discs
4) good colors while playing videos
5) less priced than other brands

cons:
1) no volume control !
2) player strutters a lot while reading MP3 files from DVD ... sometimes even hangs
3) the player reads only region-5 DVDs and cannot be made 'region free'
4) menu has very limited number of options and features
5) player shows elapsed time but does not show remaining time while playing movies
6) cannot view jpg slideshow while playing mp3 files at the background
7) image sharpness while playing DivX files is very low compared to philips
8) auto-standby cannot be de-activated

although its price is lesser, it lacks so many features found in other brands. however this player makes some sense as its price is lesser than other brand players

This Panasonic DVD player is very light weight and slim too. . The tray load dominates the right front panel of the DVD-S485, while the display screen and control buttons are on the left panel. its easy to access, compact and very stylish, full entertainment for your family.

I bought this a week back only to be used as a Cd player to play audio Cds. The sound output quality is very good, no doubt about it! Moreover the player is noiseless. I have not tested the video playing capabilities at all, so cannot comment on this.
