Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ150 Point & Shoot

I purchased this camera 2 months back...As i m a professional singer so i was in a need of a Good camera that can record my Practice sessions and Performances becoz of its Dolby Digital sound recordings and as i love photography i thought of a Semi SLR camera..this camera has performed above my expectations..i used to check images clicked by Pro photographers but when i clicked with this camera i found its always 60% work by Camera and 40% of Photographer..i m loving this camera more and more as i m using it..Its 200% worth..More than anything one can say..I have used my Friends Nikon P500 and Canon SX40HS and i was able to make out the difference clearly..moreover this camera is not even available in Panasonic Brandshops also..and Flipkart delivered this camera and a SD XC Class 10 16GBcard within 36 hours of order..Flipkart rocks..!!

Pros:
Compact
Loaded with awesome features on the SCN mode.
Nice AF(Normal, macro and MF) points and good handling
RAW+JPG format is the most useful feature.
Awesome Burst rate options
LCD screen resolution is good
HD and 3D modes are worthwhile
Image stabilizer is a class apart.
Nice editor software(RAW AND JPG)

Cons:
Auto modes has lots of noise. One has to experiment to get the right settings.
Control options are very childish (Font and Menu). I liked Sony(HX100V) menu options font.
Battery dimishes fast(unlike Sony/Nikon) when using Flash
Pouch provided is too small.It's an exercise trying to fit in the camera inside it properly.

My Advice, Go for it, and also order a high capacity memory card, coz 4 GB is not enough if you are gonna use both RAW and JPG image formats. (It supports SDXC, so that in itself is a boon for speed and transfer rates)

Product : Fantastic for this price and comparable to some of the pricier models by other manufacturers. I have tried this only for a few hours today and I'm impressed by how well it does all the things that it does. If you're not in chasing the pixel counts, this camera has enough settings to make the pictures to your liking. Autofocus is fast and accurate for stills. Didn't get a chance to check it for HD movie today but will do it soon and write about that too. Zoom range is fantastic without any noticable distortions for normal shooting. If you know what you are doing, you will normally not need more range. Menu is easy to navigate mostly. The buttons are a little too small I think but it could be because I am used to handling a full sized SLR which is comparitively larger (and heavier of course). The FZ150 does almost everything my SLR does and a few tricks more. Flash range is also good for indoor use. I found it a little tricky to mount the lens hood becasue it would not twist and lock in to it's normal position but may be I was doing it wrong.
The Panasonic branded pouch that comes along is perhaps the only thing that I did not like from the moment I opened the box. It's not the right shape/size for this camera and seems more suitable for a handycam. I may have to buy another one that fits better and has a few small pockets for cards, charger, cables etc.

Verdict : Fantastic bridge camera.

This camera is the 'best superzoom model' i have ever used. Though it falls behind in the zoom capability compared to that of the canon SX40 HS or the recently launched Nikon P510, from my experience, 24X zoom and an additional 32X iZoom which the fz150 offered is more than sufficient. It earned the best compact camera from maximum reviewers and also from me simply because it is the perfect all-rounder with excellent build quality, image sharpness, and state of the art fast auto-focus feature. Thats not all, if you are looking for a camera to compete directly with camcorder then the FZ150 is the one for you. It has got impressive video capability that leaves nothing to be desired if video recording is your required feature in a camera. The RAW image format may not be particularly useful for normal people who doesn't have the time nor the will to enhance their images. The downside however, is the fact that panasonic tend to over-process the images which though is not visible at normal frame print,is however evident when the picture is cropped at even 50%. Colour reproduction and saturation is ok at best.
Novices and experts alike will also love this camera simple because it is the perfect all-rounded and the fastest compact camera till date.
