The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LS5 weighs 173 g and is sleek enough to fit into any pocket or bag comfortably. This slim Panasonic camera is easy to use as it has a familiar 5 button menu control and zoom tabs on the right back panel. You can record videos in HD at 1280 x 720 dot pixel resolution (30 fps).
You can choose from 16:9, 3:2, 1:1 or 4:3 aspect ratios while shooting images to compose the perfect image. You can also use the 2.7 inch TFT LCD screen, which has a resolution of 230,000 dot pixels, to compose images.
Battery and Storage
The Panasonic Lumix digital camera has an internal memory of 10 MB and is compatible with SD, SDHC and SDXC memory cards. With 2 AA Alkaline batteries, you can take up to 160 images. With the optional AA NiMH batteries, you can take up to 320 images on a single charge. You can also transfer these images to a computer or a laptop using the USB 2.0 high speed port and always have more space for photographs.Performance
The Lumix DMC-LS5 has an aperture range of 2.8 - 6.5, which is the size of the lens opening to control the light falling on the image sensor. The Auto Focus of this camera has a range of 150 mm onwards and 600 mm to infinity. The light sensitivity of this Panasonic digital camera has a range of ISO 100 - 1600, which can increase to a range of ISO 1600 - 6400 in High Sensitivity mode.In still photography mode, the shutter speed of this Lumix DMC-LS5 has a range of 8 - 1/2000 second. The built-in flash of this Panasonic DMC-LS5 has a range of 600 - 4600 mm (Wide) and 600 - 2000 mm (Tele), which can be used to light up moving objects or low light scenes.
Features
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LS5 has 15 scene modes like Baby, Pet and many more, which can be used to automatically optimize settings to take stunning images of popular scenes. The Optical Image Stabilizer automatically corrects for hand-shake, and delivers blur-free images at every shot.With the Face Recognition feature, the camera will detect pre-registered faces and optimize focus and exposure settings for them in all future images. The self-timer feature lets you delay shutter release by 2 or 10 seconds to be in every image with all your friends. In Continuous Shooting mode, you can take images at 0.8 frames per second and record moments even the naked eye might miss.

Hi everyone, I was sceptical about the mixed reviews regarding this camera here. But I'd say I'm happy with what I got for the price. Importantly the HD recording is one distinctive feature of this camera. See you tube videos showing HD recording with this to believe it. Almost none of the other leading companies give 14 megapixel, 5x optical zoom and HD recording at this price. Photo quality is OK and even a beginner (I'm one) can easily understand and start using it without much fuss. All in all, a "must buy" for people looking for a starter camera to use for the next 2 to 3 years.
The pleasant surprise is the flipkart package. I got it within 48 hours of ordering it. Flipkart also has given a charger with 2 rechargeable batteries and an additional 4GB card to go with the 2 alkaline batteries and 4 GB card given by panasonic itself. Nice deal! This is my second purchase with flipkart and their service only seems to get better by the day.

Very good option for a first digital camera (P.S. For the average joe)
Excellent service as always from Flipkart, right from the time it took to deliver this to the packaging.
This is my very first digital camera and for the affordable price of Rs.4800, it has turned out to be a very good buy. Shutter speed and response is fast. The flash is AMAZING! So much detail came out when I turned off the lights in a room and took a shot with the flash. This camera has an uncanny ability to use whatever lighting is there in the room and depending on the angle of the shot, some of the pics came out looking like they had been altered in Photoshop! :) I can see how some people may get annoyed with this but for someone who hasn't meddled much in Photoshop, it's pretty cool when your pics end up looking so creatively 'done-up'.
There was a pack of rechargeable batteries included along with a pair of ordinary batteries. This camera also came with a lovely sturdy case, CD-ROM, USB cable, a 4GB memory card and, for lack of a better word, a 'loop' to attach to the camera so you can hold onto it.
I've been thoroughly enjoying using this camera. When zooming in on an object, the image remains crisp and clear. Now just have to get back to fiddling with it some more :)
A great camera for any 'average joe' looking to buy their very first digital camera.

4 4GB memory card is enf for clicking 400 to 700 photos and some videos

6 Photo quality is nice, sharp, and clear

8 Battry charger is nice and durable
9 No pc suit is needed, cable is given to copy photos from amara to pc
10 Camera responds quickly
11 Camera fiber parts are made of good material

My first Panasonic product. Happy with photo quality. Nice photos in all condition. Automatic scene selection is really helpful feature...But as mentioned in the other preview, button quality especially battery and memory door lock looks low quality. Not so sure about durability.. surprisingly company is offering 3 year warranty...
