Panasonic RP-HJE120E-K In-the-ear Headphone

i have used many high end earphones and headphones over the years and never came across a earphone the delivers the right amount of bass and high notes without some distortion, until i came across the Panasonic HJE120 series
The earphones cost me only Rs 342 and i thought of them as yet another cheap use and throw item but when i played music through my iPhone the quality of music simply blew me away
The bass was punchy the kinda effect you only get with headphones and the mid and high notes were clear and crisp, i really enjoyed to quality of music and didn't feel any discomfort even after hours of listening, The Panasonic earphone came with three different silicone buds Small Medium & Large i connected the large to mine and let me just say the quality of music and the punch was equal if not better than my Bose QC2 Noise cancellation

This is a highly recommended product you will not regret it..
And Flipkart is amazing their service and ease of ordering online is the best ive seen on any online merchant i ordered this item on 19 Oct at 8:30 Pm and had it at my doorstep on 21 at 11:30 Am

I ordered this headphone on 28/12/2011 for a price 303 Rs (yes it is true, the MRP is 399 Rs, today it is re-listed for 370Rs). I got it today 31/12/2011, I am from kerala.

The packaging is very good, it can protect the device from the rough handling of courier people. Anyway, good job flipkart. Flipkart never disappoint me in none of my shipments. rating for them is 5/5.

Now, about headphone.

DESIGN:
It is normal looking headphone, with three ear buds small, medium and large. The medium one is mounded on headphone. the headphones (not wires) are asymmetrical, so you never put the left headphone on right ear. It has a 3.5mm stereo 90 degree connector. Total length is 117cm and length of cable from the joint to headphones is 45cm. So its not very comfortable to use in a laptop/pc. but for mobiles/pmp its ok. Mine is black, the body of headphone is made of a hardly transparent plastic, so it seems a little greyish. cable feels cheap.the portion from joint to connector is like both L n R cables are joined together like in a cheap headphone, not shielded as in a sennheiser or sony.

PERFORMANCE:
I compared it with my old sony ericsson w580 bundled headphone, sennheiser in-ear, and with iball i882MV aura ear.
Believe me, it performs well with my w580, i say better than the bundled one. But not as good as the others. The bass seems good,but high is a little low,mids ok. but hey, this is a super cheapo one, right. With PC, it lack details in high. The noise isolation is again decent, not as good as sony. The earbuds feels bit hard, but there isn't any stress on ears wearing them. Overall a satisfying performance for the price.

Pros:
* Decent Bass, Good mids.
* Nice design, fits well on your ears. does not slips like others. and you don't have to double check the R and L markings before wearing.
* Decent noise isolation.
* Three different sized earbuds bundled

Cons:
* Low highs.
* Short cable, 117cm. Cable feels cheap.
* Hard earbuds

VERDICT: Overall, this product create a good impression on me. Considering the price, this is a good performer in its class.I rate 4/5 for it.

NB: the Pre-installed earbuds didn't performed well on my average sized ears ( honestly, i am below average sized). When i change to the large one, it performs well. So try it if you lack punch.

There are a lot of reviews about this product which say that these earphones are the best ever and how the sound quality was excellent, i had my doubts as at that time i was using the bose earphones which i got from the Us for around 200$ Rs 10,000)and i thought nothing could come close to the quality and sound of bose,

So i was going to thoroughly test this product for my self

The Panasonic earphones had a unique ear canal design which stood-out for me this sort of a design is usually found on high end products, Reading the technical manual i found out the Panasonic had a neodymium magnet (A rare earth magnet) powering them the same as my bose, Got 3 pairs of silicone buds along with them

I WOULD RECOMMEND PEOPLE USE THE LARGEST SIZE BUD AS IT PROVIDES THE BEST SOUND ISOLATION

I played several Mp3 tracks form my ipod touch and here are the results
Hip Hop@196kbps quality...bass & mid 4.5 out 5
Jazz @320kbps quality ..high notes very sweet and clear 5 out 5
Latest Hindi songs @128kbps..bass+high+mids...very good really enjoyed the songs 5 out 5
I conducted this test for about 3 hours of listening after which i realized that i didn't have any ear pain or discomfort the hours just flew by as i played one song after another, so a 5 out of 5 for comfort
The sound isolation by the large silicon buds was superb it cut the background drastically
The wire looked a bit flimsy but its actually quiet durable

I first had my doubts about this product, i do not any more, why did i spend 200 $ on bose when i can get almost the same quality sound from Panasonic for Rs 450

In conclusion if you want the best quality sound with high levels of performance and comfort look no further as currently there is no internationally branded earphone in the world which this much performance under Rs 500

I Think Panasonic might have made a mistake pricing these earphones so cheap...lol

I HAD THESE EARPHONES COMPARED TO SENNHEISERS WORTH ALMOST 7 TO 8 TIMES THE COST (OF THESE PANASONICS).

i am an audiophile who wants his music crystal clear and loud. I've been using sennheiser headphones/earphones for over 5 yrs now.. i have three of them and the reason i have spent over 1500rs on each of them is because sennheisers are durable. they are all still in working condition.

but for daily use which involves train travel, bus travel, gymming.. and all of this in a crowded city like mumbai.. you tend sweat a lot. so to avoid my sennheisers from getting spoilt i bought these as a makeshift option.

final conclusion: buy them. :)

philips is ok...looks wise its better than this,incase of quality,both are almost same but i vote for panasonic and on the product i purchased,its written "ergofit" and they REALLY mean it...it perfectly fits into ur ear ...
i can assure u one thing..i donno abt ear phns costing above 1000,but in case of below 1000 ones,u can definitely prefer this one...u will NEVER regret this purchase....
