Connectivity - Devices support like USB/SD Card/PC/HD Devices is great. On-line apps are almost non-existent, lack of native you-tube/picasa apps. Not sure whether these apps will be made available by Panasonic in future for this model. In case you are not planning to use your TV as a secondary Internet device, the lack of online connectivity should not be a bother.

Build - One of the heavier models in the market. The profile too is not slim compared to the Edge-Lit LED models currently in market. But this really is not a bother. Still LOADS prettier than my old CRT.

Overall Rating- This is a pretty good Full HD LCD TV. What makes this deal great is the price on Flipkart. Add to that, the fact that this TV has one of the better 42 Inch LCD displays in the Indian market makes this a great buy.

Purchased this TV in April 2012.

One of the better LCD TVS you can find in the price range of 40-45k. Has a pretty good picture quality and works well in a bright room.

Picture quality:
The IPS panel is good and bright. Bright enough to see the picture clearly in a well lit room during day time. A definite advantage over plasma tvs. The Blacks gooood, not as good as the high end models, but still very good. The colors are very vivid and bright. Eco saver mode available.
One very minor con here is that the picture mode cannot be directly changed using a single button press on the remote. Gotta go into the menu>picture>and then change it everytime.

Sound:
I would consider the sound on this one to be much better than TVs i have had in the past. The Viera Surround sound seems better than the tinny sound on my previous Samsung LN40B500. It has a headphone jack (3.5mm) for you to connect to any headphones/speaker system in addition to the HDMI or RCA audio outputs.

Connectivity:
Enough HDMI ports. 2 at the back and 1 on the side means i can connect my PS3, Xbox and Tata sky, all at the same time. USB drive easily detects my WD 1TB HDD and can play most movies from my 800GB collection :) *certain formats are unplayable. You can also watch pictures/photos and play music directly from the device. Btw, there are 2 USB ports.
You may connect to the internet via ethernet/LAN cable or connect a usb wifi adapter (only specific adapters work eg.Netgear WNDA3100). However, the things you can do after you connect to the internet are limited. Facebook and shoutcast are the ONLY apps available for this model. You CANNOT install other apps like youtube, etc.
Another advantage is that you can use DLNA to view/play files from you laptop/pc on the TV. a little complicated for newbies :P
Viera Link - connects you TV to other devices like PS3. So that your TV turns on automatically when u turn on the PS3 :)

HD content and gaming:
Its 1080p :) Very crisp picture quality in still pictures. HD video is decent at best. Games on PS3 and Xbox work great in HD.
YOu can connect you Laptop to the Tv via HDMI (HD) or VGA (non-HD). I have a Dell XPS 17 (i7, 1GB Graphics, 6GB RAM) Gaming via your PC feels awesome and games look wonderful on the big screen. A very slight delay in response time noticed during FPS games. Can easily be ignored though.

Make sure this TV goes in a big room. The best viewing distance for this tv is around 8feet. Will be too big for a small room.

Panasonic Technicians will come and install the TV at your home FOR FREE. Make sure you have the TV and the Mount when you call them. They come only ONCE :)
I was asked not to open my TV BOX when i got it delivered to my home. I was asked to wait for the Panasonic technician to open it or i would not get a refund on the TV in case of a defect. So be careful there.

I havent seen a better 42 inch LCD TV for this price. Get it !!

This TV comes with a FREE TV MOUNT. This is not mentioned on the website but you have to call to get one! It also comes with a 3 years extended warranty but i haven't succeded in getting one from flipkart.
Flipkart Customer care is wonderful, reminds me of Amazon.com in USA which gives a high importance to customer satisfaction.
