Book: Parallel Computing About the Book:
Parallel Computing deals with the topics of current interests in parallel processing architectures (synchronous parallel architectures). The synchronous model of parallel processing is based on two orthogonal fundamental ideas, viz.,
1. Temporal parallelism (pipeline processing), and
2. Spatial parallelism (SIMD parallel processing).
This book is devoted to an indepth treatment of both of the above ideas. The primary goal here is to provide a deeper understanding of the ideas and principles involved and not the description of machines which could be found elsewhere. The material presented in this book has evolved through the advanced courses taught by the author in architecture and parallel processing. A one semester advanced course can be planned employing the material from this book, supplemented by the papers of current interests from current technical literature.
