Searching for a job, Ravi (Jeetendra), a young man goes to his maternal uncle’s (A.K. Hangal) place. He is appointed as a tutor to teach the disorderly and mischievous grandkids of a wealthy ex-military man, Rai Saheb (Pran). The obstinate kids are infamous for driving tutors away with their mischiefs and pranks. After falling prey to their several pranks, Ravi succeeds in winning their and their eldest sister’s (Jaya Bhaduri) heart. As love blossoms between the two, the final challenging task of winning over the strict grandfather, Rai Saheb, lies before them. Parichay is a classic musical drama directed by Gulzar, the noted poet and songwriter of Bollywood.
