Parker Beta Standard Fountain Pen

If you want to improve your hand-writing and be different from others, with classic style, you must buy this pen.

>> Positive Features:

1. Its color is very catchy and decent.
2. The cap of pen is tight so the ink on the nib doesn't get dried.
3. Filling of ink is very easy. Just a single slide and pen is refilled !!
4. Very smooth writing with no leakages.
5. Stainless Steel Point with Parker written on it adds extra beauty to the pen!!

>> Some Drawbacks:

1. Body of the pen is made of Plastic, which looks cheap.
2. Frequent opening of the cap will make it loose.
3. Something inside the pen makes noise while writing. I don't know what but there is a loose part inside the pen which makes this noise.

Summary:

Only the name is enough. Parker will definitely satisfy you. Though there are some defects in the pen, but you must remember that this is an ENTRY-LEVEL pen. But the writing experience will be ROYAL !!

Very nice service from flipkart. They delivered it within 2 days which I did not expect. And very nice package.
A few users reported that the pen sounds when they write withit. I opened it to fill in ink and immediately I knew why it made sounds. It has a small metal ball inside and that makes a bit noise in certain pieces though I noticed nothing with my pen. The pen is nice and writing with it, as with all fountain pens, is a bliss.
Over a few months of usage however, the cap may become loose and the the ink marks that may appear on the red body of pen at the nib are not that easy to clean off and may stand a testimony of how you use the pen. My point is, the build quality is not topnotch but manageable.

I bought this pen solely to extract the reservoir pump. The one on my Parker vector inadvertently broke during refilling. Well if your looking to purchase this pen for that purpose, it serves well. But what it does better is write.

It possess one of the finest nibs in the Parker line up. Fill it with black a black “quink” cartridge or a black “pelikan” cartridge and it will joyfully produce smooth, sharp and fine lines on a range of wrting mediums. Personally I prefer the Pelikan cartridges for smoothness of supply. Not to mention they are more economic as well.

I have begun to prefer this nib to my Parker Vector Steel and that is saying a lot. In fact I prefer this to my, lot more expensive, Lamy. The only gripe is the light plastic body. I look forward to purchasing into the Parker Frontier series soon, and I would be delighted if I found this nib carried upwardsm along with what looks to be a great body.

For sheer writing pleasure this nib brings, and the rock bottom price, I would highly recommend this instrument.

this pen when compared to parker vector fountain pen have the same nib quality but has advantage over vector pen that it has better grip and light weight so more fun to write.

-comes with filling mechanism however compatible to separately purchased parker ink refills.
-has smooth writing and easy flow.

con-even the fine nib fails to give a fine writing experience and has a thick writing line.

conclusion:-if you write more than few lines and write often then it will help you more than parker vector given that you dont mind slightly thick writing from even fine nib.(parker vector too has thick writing as they both uses same nib).

-so if you want to write extra fine ,either go for different brand or my suggestion is cheap chinese pen hero:-241 which looks cheap but has excellent fine writing and is however not avilable on flipkart.

i bought this pen after deciding to buy it over the chinese hero pen which i was using for years ( a bad descision). the parker beta is a horrible pen by this company from delhi .......... it kept tearing the pages and despite all attempts did not work properly . it performed worse than the rs 15 pens in the market and despite several attempts.... the company from delhi did not replace it despite having a " guarantee"The reason for its bad nib is that its not soft like the other pens in the market and is a stainless steel nib . not brass or iridium tipped .
