Parker Frontier Stainless Steel CT Fountain Pen

I have already reviewed the parker frontier matte black gold nib fountain pen and that review provides a quite deep focus on each part of the frontier fountain pens.So i will not go into the same lengthy description over here.Rather i will mention the salient features of this particular model.Here it goes:

1.The barrel is made up of a single piece of metal(uni-body concept)which makes the pen really really hardy.

2.The pen weighs less the parker frontier matte black one though it is made up of steel!!!so it more delightful to use in long writing sessions.

3.The nib is a true performer right out of the box and this was not the case with my matte black pen.The frontier matte black took quite a bit of time to reveal its quality and to be true,the matte black's nib is still not as smooth as this one's.The nib just glides over the paper and sometimes it is so smooth that you will feel that you are slicing a bar of butter with a sharp knife.!!!Believe me,it is not an overwhelming admiration,it is really like that.

4.All other parts of the pen seems very well made and reflects the "parker quality" in all the way.

As for the conclusion,i must recommend this to all professional fountain pen lovers to have a try...Again,i will mention that,to me,the frontier series is not meant for new comers into the world of fountain pens.because some wontedness is necessary to use these products.

The Flipkart delivery was great and fast as usual...the case was scratched up a bit, but the pen was in mint condition. I definitely felt that this was a true high quality product from Parker. HOWEVER...it didn't come with any ink! How am I supposed to write with a pen if it doesn't even come with ink? Other customers have said that this pen "writes perfectly right out of the box." But there was no ink included in the box...

The ink barrel looks quite small, but it takes some time to fully diminish, even if you are a heavy writer. I purchased some Black Parker Quink and filled up the barrel, and found it to be truly exceptional. It's slightly scratchy, but then again fountain pens are kind of like wine...you need to develop a taste for it.

Please make sure you purchase some ink before expecting the pen to come with an ink cartridge [because it doesn't]. Once it has ink inside, it writes like magic!

A wonderful product from Parker.

I was using the Vector CT and Gold Nib previously - which are both wonderful. They are slim in structure and difficult to hold for long periods of time.
The Frontier is thick barreled and better on the hand for those who have big hands/ thick fingers. The grip is more comfortable.

In general, the gold nib is said to be more scratchy than the stainless steel ones. Hence I chose this Frontier. The nib is indeed very smooth, smoother one day one than what the Gold nib Vector is after say 3 to 4 months.

The nib has the classical look with the feeder and leaf nib unlike the Vector which has a modern look.

The thick looking pen causes a sort of dissonance in your mind because it a very light compared to what its appearance suggests. Would have loved it to be as heavy as it looks - or may be I will get used to it. (-1 Star for an otherwise great pen).

I am using this product for about a month now.I own many fountain pens including ARTEX,REYNOLDS,HERO,PIERRE CARDIN and PARKER BETA and VECTOR.but since I started using this pen,I have stopped using all other pens.I'll tell u why....
pros:1.the nib is very smooth from the beginning,it is getting even smoother as the days r passing.
2.the grip is very good and suitable for extended hours of writing as the pen doesn't slide from hand.
3.looks simply stunning in hand.the class of PARKER is written all over it.
4.built quality is exceptional.I don't think it will ever break.
5.the pen is a bit on the heavier side thereby giving u nice curves while writing.
cons:none that I could find so far.
u now know what to do if u r a fountain pen lover.

first of all.......... hat off for flipkart service. i got shipment less than 48 hrs what they mention.. now come to the pen.. when i start writing with this pen, i found it softer and speedy than any roller pen.. one's can find it bit heavy but after some hrs u get used to it... really nice experience & worthy... i'll strongly recommend this pen to all fountain pen lovers...
