  • Description

Path of the Swan is the first volume in The Maitreya Series, a mythological novel about the mythical world of Shambala.

    Summary of the Book

Lama Nyima Ozer leaves the monastery he has lived in for nearly his entire life, with his novitiate Tashi in tow. Tashi and Ozer have one purpose. They wish to find the forgotten realm of Shambala. Their journey will force them to leave their corporeal forms and travel to another world, one that exists on the edge of reality itself. And there, they meet he golden dakini, Yeshe Nam Lha, daughter of the Goddess Tara; Prince A-KarO, heir to the Lha Empire; and Prince Narasimha heir to the Rigdens and the Shambala legacy. The princes hold the key to saving the world, for one of them must wed Yeshe, and the child of their union is prophesized as the fated Maitreya, the saviour of the world. Tashi and Ozer must lead these characters out of Shambala and into the world, but on the way, they will find their quest almost impossible, for there are many Asurs who wish to thwart them. These demons will do anything they can to prevent the birth of the Maitreya, for he is the fated final form of the Buddha.

A fantasy novel woven around Tibetan Buddhist mythology!

Quite the first of its kind among the fantasy novels out there! The author has created a fascinating story around the mythical figures of Tibetan Buddhism. The stark landscape, the 'quest' theme, the fantastic characters and their adventures and interactions make for a very exciting story.
