Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian (Hardcover) Price: Rs.340

Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian, the last novel in the Percy Jackson & The Olympians series, topped the USA Today, Wall Street Journal and Los Angeles Times bestseller lists soon after its release.

In the book, Percy Jackson (Perseus), a demi-god who is the son of Poseidon, is anxiously waiting to see whether a prophecy made about him will come true. As per the prophecy, Percy Jackson will decide the fate of the world when he turns sixteen.

The adventure begins when Percy Jackson’s sworn enemy, Kronos, mounts a stealthy attack by sea on New York City. In order to protect the city and the unguarded Mount Olympus, Percy Jackson makes himself invulnerable by bathing in the river Styx. Soon, New York is under siege and its citizens are put to sleep by the evil Kronos.

Percy Jackson comes to the rescue, and a battle between Kronos and Percy rages fiercely in the Olympus throne room. All seems lost when the demi-gods face an attack from yet another flank led by the dreaded and gigantic monster, Typhon.

Will Percy and the demi-gods be able to save Olympus?

Will Percy accept the gift of immortality that the gods bestow on him?

What happens to the relationship between Percy Jackson and the love of his life, Annabeth?

Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian was extremely well received by the critics. An audio version of the book, narrated by Jesse Bernstein, was also released by Random House.

A Great Ending to A Great Franchise.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Last Olympian, belongs to a category of its own. The novel beautifully blends together genres such as Action/ Adventure, Romance, Tragedy, Family, and Faith, and presents some strikingly intriguing philosophical thoughts.

On top of this, its got its author, who does such a stunning work at understanding the adolescent psyche, that it doesn't go without saying that this book deserves its high sales.

There are sardonic portrayals; such as those of the fates, as well as bright and valiant ones, such as that of Percy Jackson. Not to mention, its got enough...

There are sardonic portrayals; such as those of the fates, as well as bright and valiant ones, such as that of Percy Jackson. Not to mention, its got enough romantic tension to qualify as a better Romance-Novel than Twilight.

Anyway, I'm 15 years old, and I can really relate with the character of the protagonist. I think that's something Mr. Riordan intended; that every male reader would find similar traits in the male protagonist; Jackson, while every female reader would find the same in the female protagonist; Annabeth Chase.

I hope this was helpful, and that you're planning on buying this book, because, if you don't, I can guarantee you... You're missing out on a classic-to-be. :)

This one will blow you away.........

I read the book in just 1 & a half day, so you can imagine how hard it was for me to put it down. It was way better than the previous 4 books not only because its fast-paced but also dripped in humour & wit. I have become a hardcore fan of Rick Riordan. I simply cant wait to read the spin-off series. Who would have thought such a fantastic world can be created out of Greek myths.

I wish there was an Indian author who could write a novel involving Indian myths.......

I invite all of you to guess who the last Olympian is, before you read the book and why. Please add it as comments.
Though not woven around any particular myth. It explores a variety of them.
To an adult reader probably the weakest of the books. But for the teenager it is definitely action packed. Hordes of monsters, lots of strategies.
The Olympian Hestia is honoured.

Hope in the Pandora???s Box is holding to hope, when you let it go, you are not releasing it for world betterment but giving up hope.
Hope survives best at home and hearth.
Achilles heel more than an anatomic weakness it is the weakness of our psyche too.
Nemesis is more of the goddess of maintains balance than revenge.
A good read. It does leave greed more.

The grand finale

What is it about the last book in every series that makes them awesome?

Deathly Hallows was epic, The Last Battle as well... [exception to the rule - Breaking Dawn; but then Twilight was trash from the start... made me wonder why I bought it in the first place.]

And now, The Last Olympian continues with the-last-book-is-cool tradition. Rick Riordan makes sure we're kept on the edge of our seats, breathlessly awaiting the next event in Percy's demigod life.

There are all ingredients - the action, Percy sarcasm, humour, romance, tragedy.... so keep your seatbelts on, because you're in for...

The Last Olympian

This last book features Percy Jackson's deadliest adventure in the series. Kronos, the titan lord has awoken and has attacked olympus. Meanwhile, Percy discovers many things about Luke's past,Hade's and Nico's past and many other pasts before Percy's adventure began.
Wondering who the last olympian is? I'll give you a sneak peek. It is Hestia, godess of hearth, who is seen as in child form in many scenes of the book. Talking about the end.... well you'll have to read it! I can tell you one thing that after the great phrophecy, there's another one that is carried out in heroes of olympus series....

The writing style of Rick Riordan is as usual: amazing ,awesome!
Must read.
I would rank the Percy Jackson series as such:
1. The Last Olympian (Book 5)
2.The Lightning Thief (Book 1)
3. The Battle of the Labyrinth ( Book 4 )
4. The Titan's Curse (Book 3)
5 The Sea of Monsters (Book 2)
