  • Description

Jack Reacher must face an old adversary who made things Personal in Lee Child’s new thriller. This is the 19th title in the series.

    Summary of the Book

Jack Reacher has had enough with the army, but the army isn’t quite finished with him yet. When a long-range shot threatens the safety of the French President, Jack is pulled back into service. This time, he serves the State Department and the CIA. However, he faces an expert marksman whose work looks oddly familiar. How could anyone make a shot at a distance of three-fourths of a mile from the target? To make matters worse for America, the bullet is one of theirs and the gunman is an ex-convict with 15 years of prison time behind him: John Kott. Jack must once again track down the man he put away years before. This time, the stakes are higher. Jack continues to be haunted by memories of a woman he couldn’t save. He is teamed up with a young analyst named Casey Nice, and he begins to feel like the situation is repeating itself. However, he is desperate to keep it from happening this time. This time, he tells himself, the killer made it personal.

    Awesome!

This is my first Reacher book and my first Lee Child book and I loved every page of it.

The writing, narration, language, wit, one-liners are just fantastic. Loved every minute of it.

On the flip side, the plot moves a little slowly and at times is a little boring. Nevertheless, enjoyed the book.

Going with a 4 star for this one!!

I tend to enjoy Jack Reacher novels pretty much always. That said this one was a bit slower and with a bit more filler and unnecessary descriptions.

The book’s premise is very similar to that of The Day of the Jackal by Frederick Forsythe, as in let’s catch the sniper before he kills the President, but because this is Jack Reacher, there is a lot more action and less thinking, which normally I don’t mind but somewhere in the middle of the story, it felt that the book was losing its direction...
