Persuasion is a novel written by author Jane Austen and set in Bath, which was a health resort that Austen had lived at in the early 19th century. It is a story of Anne Elliot, who falls in love with a poor yet ambitious naval officer. Her family being upset with her choice, persuade her to end the relationship. Eight years later, Anne re-encounters her former love and finds that he is working to court her younger neighbor. Persuasion is highly recommended for those who enjoy the writings of Jane Austen and for those who are discovering her writings for the first time.
