Review: The built-in speakers of this T.V. are bad.
Verdict: True. The audio from the T.V.'s built-in speakers are pretty bad and it is really disappointing. It is OK if you are to install it in your bedroom and are going to watch movies alone at night. Otherwise, it is no good.

Review: It is not possible to connect external speakers to this T.V.
Verdict: False. It is very much possible to connect external speakers to the T.V. I am using my Altec Lansing 2.1 speakers with it and works just fine.

Review: It is difficult for a layman to connect external speakers to this T.V.
Verdict: True. It is not straight-forward. But here are some simple steps that you can do. In the box, you will find an AV in/out cable - connect this to the T.V.. If you have a normal TRS (3.5mm audio jack) for your speakers like me, then you will have to buy a cable with male audio ports at one end and female 3.5mm jack at the other end. This cable is available at all small electrical shops for Rs.40. Connect the male audio ports of this cable to the 'audio in' port of the cable in the box and connect 3.5mm jack of your speaker to the female end of the cable you just purchased. Voila - Problem solved! (Alternatively, like others have suggested here - simply connect your speakers to the set-top-box.)

Review: But Flipkart has mentioned in the Specifications table (under Connectivity) that it has one headphone jack in the rear.
Verdict: This is wrong and misleading. There is no headphone jack in the rear of this product. What they thought is a headphone jack is actually a 'PC Audio In' jack and that does not help you connect external speakers to your T.V. directly. Hope Flipkart clears this soon.

Review: The USB does not play most files.
Verdict: False. I have connected my 500GB Portable HDD to the T.V. through the USB port at the back and it works splendidly. It plays all files that I can think of, even .mkv (most T.V.s cannot play .mkv files). I have so far watched many movies of 720p resolution and 2 movies of 1080p resolution (one of which was a documentary shot entirely on an IMAX camera) without any pixelating issues and loved it.

Review: This T.V. is too small for your living room.
Verdict: False. It really depends on how big your living room is. I live in a rented house in Bangalore and you know how small these are. So this T.V. is more than enough for me and my family to enjoy high-definition movies at home. But like others have mentioned here - it is actually just perfect for your bedroom too!

Review: The base of the T.V. is wobbly.
Verdict: True. It is not entirely wobbly, but is really flimsy. There is no out-of-the-box wall mount for this T.V. available though you can purchase one later. Be careful not to break the base while screwing it in. If you make it too tight, it can break.

Review: If the power breaks, the T.V. does not come back on by itself.
Verdict: True. If there is a power cut when the T.V. is on, it does not turn back on when the power resumes. According to me, this is perfect. I do not want the T.V. to turn itself on again when I am not home or if I am asleep. I would rather just press the small power button on the remote if I want to turn it on again - which I guess will not give you Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. :)

Review: It is too costly for a 22inch T.V.
Verdict: False. I did enough research just like you before I selected this T.V. Even if it is just 22inches, it has premium features like 1 USB port, 2 HDMI ports, Full HD 1080p and the best part - it is LED! This is my first LED T.V., and it is so much better than Plasmas or LCDs - you will see the difference at once. The picture quality is beyond excellent.

My Final Verdict: If you are looking for a small T.V. and your budget is small, invest here. This is a fantastic T.V. that serves the purpose beautifully. I love it so far and will totally recommend it. And be sure to purchase from Flipkart. These guys are amazing with respect to packing and delivery. Totally worth every penny spent.

I use Philips 22PFL4556 as a monitor. Its awesome.
I had been researching on all brands in terms of pricing, economy and long term cost savings. This TV scores a 5 star in these domains.

I has a measely power consumption of 41W (35W video + 6 W audio) which is amazing since I can use this TV on my inverter much longer than my fan (typical fan consumes 70W!)
The problem with other brands like samsung, toshiba and onida was that even though they have 40-45W power consumption for video, their 150-200W PMPO audio power kills the power saving effect of the video, so you don't really save on those electricity bills with other brands. Philips has done a great job! I use my hard-disk to watch movies directly through its USB port without needing my CPU to burn calories (power) which is awesome!

Pros:
1. 5 Star rating (35 W video + 6 W audio) = Less power consumption than any fan. (1W standby power consumption)
2. Very crisp, bright and vivid display (inspite having no dedicated video engine)
3. Full HD support
4. 2 HDMI ports, 120Hz motion rate, 4ms response time
5. USB plug and play support
6. Display does not switch-on on its own if you interrupt its power supply. Which means that the device will save power and reduce the risk of it being damaged due to voltage transients
6. Good philips after sales service support. My display was defective, Filpkart and philips were very understanding and provided me with a brand new piece within a week!

Cons:
1. Sound volume not too high.
Solution: Hey, 6W for sound is very less power (if you have an inverter and want a long time use, this is infact a boon) External speakers are available at various prices - cheap to premium. You can always use them.

2. No Audio out port
Its a pain, but they do have an AV in/out port, just that you'll have to buy pin convertor which isn't an easy job for a layman. Also there is no HDMI audio out feature.
Solution: Not a perfect solution, but Connect your audio device directly to your set-top box or computer.

3. HDMI through my computer supports a resolution of 1366x768 only. (1080p goes out of bounds of the display)

4. USB playing provides sharper videos that tend to pixelate on the object edges if resolution is not right. This does not happen when viewing videos through VLC or GOM player on the computer (since players have anti-aliasing feature). Also, you cannot adjust the screen resolution in USB mode.

Conclusion:
1. Must buy for environmentalists - Will reduce your carbon footprint.
2. Must buy for those facing frequent power cuts and want to use the TV for a very long time on the inverter
3. Must buy for those looking for a very well priced 22-24" TV with premium features.

Ordered the TV and Flipkart delivered in just 2 days that was just super and gr8 but have been calling the Philips customer care daily from past 10 days for demo and instillation but no response from their end .Every day a new problem number is being given and they ask you to wait for 48 hrs . Picture quality and feature wise it’s the best TV in the class and worth for money, but whatz the use without the customer support. Don’t buy any phylips products as you have to run behind the customer care guys .

Everything in this tv is good.

I only wanted to mention the con here.

This tv does not have any form of audio out. So if you want to connect external speakers or headphones you have connect them to the set top box only. Thus if you are using normal cable you wont be able to connect the speakers to the tv. Please note this while purchasing this tv. Besides this the product rocks.

This is a great TV when it comes to picture quality (given that it's Full HD and has a good contrast ratio as the specs indicate). It also consumes very low power. The little one scores high on these counts; Having to play movies directly from the hard drive through the USB port is another very convenient feature. In addition, Philips offered wall-mouting accessories and Videocon D2H coupon. The price is very competitive for the features offered and all in all, a great deal.
The only low point for me is the poor audio quality when you connect head-phones or speakers to it through the provided cables.
