Please do not make the mistake of buying this DVD player. It plays only region 5 and nothing else. The product information is misleading because it does not mention this. So most of the DVDs cannot be played.
I have been a regular customer with Flipkart and this is the first time their service has been pathetic.
Doesnt play other region DVDs, bought something from the UK, doesnt play that. Chose a no-brand instead. And as another reviewer mentioned, this one doesnt play many formats. The no-brand ones are easier to manage.
on the positive side: worth the price, compact and good performance
on the negative side: the remote is not that convenience
delivery as promised on time too

Wonderful device.. quite compact and light weight. Runs well with our old CRT TV. Supports MPEG and AVI formats so if you want to watch other formats like FLV, MP4 etc you need to convert it into supported formats using a Video conversion software. Also in most cases you need to convert the video to aspect ratio 860x480 (incase you have an old TV) for better picture.
Cons are: does not have HDMI output, does not support latest video formats like mp4, flv etc.. so conversion is a must in these cases, no HD quality output..
But still very good bargain for the price...
Totally waste product, but flipkart delivery is good, I PURCHASED THIS DVD SO THAT I COULD WATCH MOVIES THRU MY USB BUT ALL IN VAIN. ON THE BOX THEY DO NOT EVEN MENTION WHAT FORMATS OF VDOS ARE SUPPORTED.
I would rate my experience in 2 parts:-

I had been using Philips DVP3140 (US bought - Dec 2007) & frankly I was quite happy with it until it started showing deterioration in terms of reading disks - At times it would, other times it wont read the disks - Unsuccessful reads increased a lot & hence I thought to replace it.
We use DVD player nearly everyday for around 2 hours.
Considering the price, quality & service provided by this product I thought of going to Philips again. So I chose DVP3608 - as it was the most economical at the time of my purchase (Sony was around 500 bucks costlier).
I found DVP3608 low in quality (remote was quite low in standards - I literally need to push it hard). At times it wont even take ur command altogether!!
It would at times take 10 to 15 seconds to initialize (ie. once u put in the disc in the drive til it shows the menu) - especially for DVDs
Within 3 months of purchase it started showing disc read errors (At times it wont read the disc that it used to every other day).
It would at times take time to start the DVD MP3 - Press the play button & wait for 5 seconds before you do anything else (Yes! 5 literal seconds).
Though I never experienced interrupted playback (ie. once the disc starts playing, it would play well) from this device till date - good part :)
I never tried rough/pirated/low-quality DVD/CD/VCD so cant comment about the stress evaluation of the product...
I am not sure which all formats are accepted by the pen-drive - I tried few AVIs, MPEGs, MP4s - none got recognized & then I really didnt pay attention to try out more...
Overall Verdict : Would strongly suggest to invest few more bucks & try higher versions or may be go for a different brand

I have bought this product as my mum and dad cannot play movies in laptops. I find it very good totally. let me jot down its merits and demerits.
merits:
*It plays the scene from the movie where it left last.
*The remote control works good.
*It is light-weight and portable.
demerits:
*It does not got the timer.
*The catalog provided is not concise.
*It produces current shock while touching the player during its play nevertheless it worth a buy.

All users do not buy any Philips Audio or Video products. I have Philips home theater systems and 3 times I changed DVD head worth of Rs. 6700. Philips India service is pathetic.
I have thrown one more Philips DVD player.

DO NOT BUY THIS DVD PLAYER. IT DOES NOT SUPPORT ALL THE VDO FORMATS. IT ONLY SUPPORTS MPEG AND AVI. EVEN IN AVI FORMAT IT DOES NOT SUPPORT ALL THE CODECS. IN THE USB DRIVE IT DOES NOT DETECT ALL THE FOLDERS. I HAD MOVIES IN ONE FOLDER AND IT RESISTED TO DETECT THAT FOLDER. I PURCHASED THIS DVD SO THAT I COULD WATCH MOVIES THRU MY USB BUT ALL IN VAIN. ON THE BOX THEY DO NOT EVEN MENTION WHAT FORMATS OF VDOS ARE SUPPORTED.
THE SERVICE OF FLIPKART IS VERY GOOD.
THE PICTURE CLARITY IS VERY GOOD.ITS A GENUINE GOOD PIECE.GOOD FUNCTION.DVD PLAYER READS ALL THE FORMATS LIKE DVD,CD,MP3 AND ALSO SHOWS PICYURE CLIPS FROM CD.IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR FUNCTIONALLY ACTIVE DVD PLAYER GO FOR IT.
