Value for Money
It detects content from my 16gb USB drive without any problem.I have not tested with 32 GB drives or external HDDs however. It does play many formats as mentioned in the spec. But sometimes it does not detect some .avi and mp4 (BluRay Rip). What surprised me more is I never expected it...

Your Dream DVD Player!
Used this for over a month now...

> User friendly.
> Plays: MPG, MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG, MPEG4, AVI ... (tried different AVI + different MPEG files, runs beautifully)
(Specs claim MP4 from FlipKart, tried few didn't work... Later checked the Philips site to realize that the player supports:
Audio: mp3, wma
Picture: JPEG
Video: avi, mp4, mpeg, mpg
As per the specs, product works fine )

Low price Good product.
However, the volume keys doesn't work - one has to adjust volume through the TV remote. Fast forward key is also not very effective.

UPDATE****
Went to Philips site to find out what compression techniques are supported. MPEG 1 AND MPEG2 are supported along with avi. If you have a video or movie that does not play on this player, simply convert it to MPEG 2 format using Free video converters like WinFF etc and then play it using a USB pendrive. Deducting one star for not supporting modern codecs.

Good one from the Past Generation
Plays all DvDs effortlessly, inspite of scratches, Easy to use, Compact n Sturdy, Very useful for Old people - can be handled easily n effectively
Lacks features though, no LCD display - its just a LED-kind of display with just numbers being displayed

worth as a basic player:)
definitely not MP4, FLV and higher formats . its a basic player, worth for its cost my dear friends. AVI files till 360p is played well:)
when compared with other basic players in samsung and sony, the equal par is got for minimum Rs 2800.. then why not go for a cheaper one :)
easy options to handle... sleek remote:) well packed:) No usb recording.....it is said usb of 16gb can be used... i possess 8gb and it has no flaw..... soon ll try with...
