The device as a whole is good. Some things which I liked/disliked are as below.
1. 5.1 support + HDMI + USB in a single player
2. Easylink feature
1. Bit noisy while reading the disk. Not sure how competitors are placed on this point. But as an end user I could say that this is noisier than an older Philips player (forgot model no) which I have.
2. There is no volume control button directly available on the remote. This make it difficult if you don't have an Amp/recevier (which would have had a remote with volume control).
3. UI Could have been more graphical.
4. While using an USB harddisk, I could see that, the player was not able to find the files which are kept deeper in the folder structure. I had to copy the same file in to folders nearer to the root folder.
5. There is no shuffle option for music from USB.
It would have been nice if there was an option to browse to a folder and then say to play all music files inside that folder and subfolders.
I ended up zeroing on this DVD player as it had HDMI out, USB and a much needed Mic input. I hardly found any other DVD payer with the mic jack option tagged with a smart price. Moreover anyone could blindly trust the Philips brand.
Now for the features:
1) Basic functionality of playing a DVD is perfect, except for the sound when the DVD is being read.Of course you won't hear it when you play the DVD with sound :) So that's not much of a issue. The sounds does prove that DVD player is working !!! :)
2) Mic Jack works good. A built amplifier would have been great, but that is too much to ask for the price. All you need to have is a good mic and don't stay very close to the speaker as it might resonate. I wouldn't complain the DVD player for this. This a cool feature in a DVD player as it helps to bring the hidden Bon Jovi's among my dear ones often during get-together.
3) HDMI port works well.
4) Easylink+ feature seems not to be working very well. I used it with my Samsung LCD TV, but with the TV remote the response didn't look as expected. Now I get lost playing with the remotes.
All in all its a great product worth the price..
Bought this player from Flipkart. Thanks to them as they delivered it in 2 days with safe packing though the comitment was 3-7 business days. It works average with video upscaling even with original DVD with 1080i, but the 5.1 Analog Audio channel output is the speciality on this HD DVD player. No other HD DVD player has the 5.1 analog output.
For 3560K, this DVD player is worth buying
if u like quality than listen to this ,, this player is not playing many original dvds which are really very costly . upscaling is not great ,, digital textual graphics in menu are very poor ,, HDMI support is good , and it is light weight ,, 5.1 channel surround is also there . i m not satisfied with this product , go for sony inspite of this
In two months time of use I got problem in receiver of Remote.
When I asked the service Engg, why this issues he said It's an electronic item; any thing can happen any time.
Now after 6 months, it is not reading DVDs. It had problems with old DVDs but now it is not reading even new ones.
