Philips GC1905 Iron

Looks:
Great looks, good size, and looks good on the ironing board. Before buying it I thought the purple buttons might look bad, but they didn’t seem as bad when i saw the iron.

Price:
It has the best "price to watt" ratio, and i wanted only above 1300W. This was the best price i found for an iron above that wattage.

Power:
Considering its 1440W when most irons are 1300W, it heats up really fast and extremely hot, so be a little careful.

Sole plate:
Considering the bulkiness of the iron, it would have been more convenient if the sole plate was at least 1/2 inch to 1 inch longer. But then again i had checked electric irons of most companies, and seems like this is the standard size these days. Older Philips irons had comparatively larger sole plate base.

Availability:
1st i did not find this iron on most other online sites & appliance shops, the places where i did find this iron, i did not find this price anywhere else.

I would like to give the product a 8.5 on a scale of 10.

It has a good build and design, it serves the purpose in all ways for its price keeping in mind the company repo and the services offered by the competitors.

For any one who wants an decent iron box to serve the purpose solely can blindly go for this product.

For the one who always want to have the best in the market must not be reading this anyways!

Bought this iron from flipkart.
Its bigger than it appears in the pics. Although it is light, it might come across as bulky, especially for female users. Visually, the iron is a pleasure with the blue and white body. However, the purple buttons are an eyesore(as in third upright pic).

Do read the first use instructions. The sole-plate has a coating that needs to be removed before use on your clothes.

The iron looks exactly like in the display pictures. It had some dirt spots on it when I received it. My guess is that it's probably due to the box in which the iron came.
After going through the manual(highly recommended) I started using the iron and I noticed following things.

1. Materials used in manufacturing are of good quality
2. The sole plate is a bit small
3. Compared to my older Morphy Richards it's a bit heavy
4. Most importantly the cable is a bit short
5. The iron can tackle any wrinkle
6. Gives your clothes that crisp feel without much hassle

Overall it's a good product. I do not see any reason for regret after buying this.

I checked it in 'top departmental/electronic stores'. Flipkart's price came to be the lowest one and the stores where i checked it at, nobody informed me it comes with surf excel and 2 comfort after wash fabric conditioner. Flipkart's website didn't mention it too. It is not for the first time i have found flipkart's price to be the cheapest.

Now, what i do is shortlist the products that i like on flipkart, go to stores and check the same product over there too, note their price, come home, check price on flipkart and place order. :D Hu hu hu.

And i'm bored of mentioning all the time that Flikart's services were awesome. They deliver the product in just a day or two and it was double boxed with all those bubble wraps, air filled bags and blah blah. Flipkart just does it and everyone knows it. :)

Iron looks sexy. I know nothing about ironing, washing clothes and dishes, cooking or any other household chores. I bought it because it looked good to my eyes than the others and i'm happy. It is indeed sexy. 4 Rating because when i received the product it had some scratches on the handle bar and that bit turned little off white. I was gonna call flipkart to replace but i didn't bother because it was minute and package was sealed too. I decided to live with it. I would have otherwise rated it 5.
