Philips GC1930 Iron

A few things to start.

* This is a dull white product with a not so bright green. Hence not the most pleasing by looks.
* When I got it, it had a neat brown/Yellow mark on the handle.. Like as if it was used or kept out for display and hence aged. Now when you pay 1000+ bucks you expect it to look NEW.
* I got that replaced and even the replacement had a lighter but similar mark. So happened that it was the inside of the box of the Iron itself(which was brown in color) that left the mark since these are stacked/something heavy would be placed on top during its lifetime before it reaches you.

I like the performance of the product. I liked the promptness of Flipkart in replacing the product when I wasn't happy with the 1st piece. (But I did have to make 3 calls to even get them to take the replacement request).

The product says what it does... My wife uses it everyday n it very useful....

I received this iron in a sturdy package from flipkart, but was disappointed to see scratches and marks on the iron body. It looked like it was used earlier or at least kept in an open display before being packed and parcelled. It didn't look new at all.

As far as performance is concerned, I've been using other model of Philips iron since years and knew that this one also will not give me much trouble. It works nicely on wrinkles. But after one month of use (that too hardly 4-5 shirts a week), I notice that the Steam-Burst feature doesn't work as promptly as it was working earlier. You have press the button 2-3 times before it 'bursts' any steam.

Other than that, it's working fine. But at this price, I was hoping for a better product than the earlier cheaper Philips Steam iron I had.

I was using a bajaj dry iron which became old and temperature control got screwed up. So, went for this steam/spray iron from Philips. Checked its price in local retail stores before placing order on flipkart. Flipkart has the best deal on this product online.

Pros:
1. Ease of use
2. Steam burst that works well on monster wrinkles
3. Fast ironing
4. Light weight (although it looks bulky)
5. Clacite cleaner

Cons:
1. When operated in maximum steam spray mode, cannot iron more than 3 shirts without refilling water

I have a monster wrinkle cotton shirt with which I've wrestled every time I used my old dry iron. This steam iron worked like a charm on it :)

I would definitely recommend this product

I bought this iron ~ a week back. Was delivered in about 3 days.
Product Quality : NEW. no marks as complained by people. I know people have complained about the dull looks but I actually like it.
Iron feels solid in that hand. Not cheap / plasticky. Very comfortable to use
Ironing quality is great. The iron is certainly well designed, and the spray function works really well. The steam knob / temp control is pretty simple.
Haven't used the steam burst function yet; so cant comment on that. But all in all, this iron gets rid of the wrinkles pretty well.
Good buy. No hesitation in recommending it to others

Really good product from Philips. All features like steam burst, vertical steam etc working fine. Large water storage is very easy to refill thanks to the big opening and closeable lid.

Great Ergonomics. Well designed, feels really nice and comfortable in the hand. The steam knob also made well, easy to turn around.

The iron heats up real fast, but loses heat also fast. Have to wait for the light to go off often. Iron performance is good, presses clothes quite well. Doesn't stick to clothes, very smooth.
