Product Description
The Philips GC1980 Iron helps you get your household chores done faster and makes it easy. It has a super fast filling and emptying tank, a pointed tip and a soleplate that glides smoothly over fabrics.
Design
The iron comes with a double active calc system which prevents scale build up. This gives the iron an easy clean-up function and therefore, a longer lifetime. It has a super fast filling and emptying watertank with a large filling and emptying hole and sideways opening door.

Operation
The iron has variable steam settings and gives out 22 g/min of continuous steam output for better crease removal. The steam boost option ensures that stubborn wrinkles are removed easily. You can even remove creases from hanging fabrics by using the vertical steam function of the Philips iron.

Using this Steam Iron from Philips for about 6-7 months now on almost every day for 2-3 times.
PROS
•With its 1750W power consumption, Steam Iron is ready to use at full heat if required within 20-25 seconds.
•The soleplate is excellent and moves very smoothly over fabric. Accidentally tried to Iron a nylon cloth on high temperature resulting in cloth getting burnt and got stuck to the soleplate. Just had to wipe the soleplate with wet cloth and the soleplate was clean.

first of all thanks again to flipkart delivery on time and in good condition.

-heats up quickly
-good steam pressure
-spray function is also fine with mist like water output
con:
- plastic looks cheap on the body parts.
- sole plate is prone to scratch be careful with shirt buttons.
- the water goes empty quickly had to refill three times in a 40 min ironing session
- the vertical steam function does not work properly had to press three four times, but some times works in first press

One of the best Steam Iron
Firstly, I did some research about what exactly is GOLDEN AMERICAN HERITAGE SOLEPLATE. Well, I didn't knew much about the soleplates and there is not much information on the Internet as well. This is by far one of the best steam irons available. Easy to use, easy to clean, very comfortable grip, great features, specially the vertical steam function which comes handy for blazers. The golden sole plate never sticks to any type of fabric. This iron is a bit heavy which adds to its usefulness as you don't have to put extra pressure to remove tough wrinkles and the tip of plate reaches every corner of the clothes. Nice product a gentleman should have
I got this product while there was discount sell. I was following it up for quite some time. It costed me around INR 1645/-. There was problem immediately after few moths where light went off and never came back. On calling the Philip service center, technician came in a day and cleaned it internally and then it is working ever since. I am writing a review after more than 1.6 year since bought.
