Philips GoGear Ariaz 16 GB MP4 Player

I recently bought this mp 4 player. The features are satisfactory. The pic quality and video are also pretty good. The 16 GB inbuilt memory is more than enough to carry around a vast library (and discographies of your favorite artists if you wish) in a portable manner. For most of the people, even the headphones (in-canal, which sits snugly and comfortably in your ears, thus eliminating external noise) that comes along with the player will suffice. However for those who listen to a lot of music, the headphones, would be a bit disappointing. Not a cause of worry though..You can use any other headphones of your preference (thanks to the standard 3.5mm jack). I use a Samsung in canal earphone along with this player which gives a satisfactory enough sound quality. As many say, the player alone doesn't do the trick. Headphones are equally important. Considering safety of ear, there are features like "safe sound" and a timer which keeps track of how long you've been listening. Yeah, I almost forgot to mention the built in speaker.. Obviously, the quality in headphone is much better, but there are also those who would prefer having that extra feature. Lastly, I'd also like to appreciate Flipkart and its customer care executives for their prompt response to some queries.

This is my 5th mp3/mp4 player so far and it satisfied me in every aspect...

I've been using this from last 6 months and it didn't let me down..
battery backup is increased from 31.5 hours to 33 hours on mp3 songs only after i updated it with latest firmware but now i have a lot of flac files on it so plays about 23 hours continuously which is sufficient for me.

Though i m a bit depressed by Philips, as u didn't get the earphones shown on the pack and on site.. but shipped earphones are also OK.

You can almost hear every sound clearly in this set if you have a good set of headphones.. Full sound technology is good..preset equalizers are pretty effective. I use to listen a lot of metal so this is the best i ever had. Best for Metal and Jazz..

Videos are also seamless, plays without lag or something.. currently I'm using Sennheiser CX-180 earphones and the combination is unbelievable..

Overall totally value for money.

Ohh flipkart...you are just too good. I bought this on 16th afternoon and got it on 18th noon. The delivery is way better than express one.

On the product one thing is to be noticed that it is completely value for money.

-> Awesome sound quality

Cons:
The only concern is the inbuilt speaker is not so loud(I dont need though)

Bought Philips GoGear Ariaz MP4 to gift it and what praises I received...but real praise goes to the gadget and the service of flipkart who were prompt in delivering the product within 2 working days. Product is up to the mark and all the specifications mentioned as it is....wonderful product and would recommend to go ahead with it....sole reason of buying it was for the in-built speaker which is rare in MP3 and MP4s.

I was a bit apprehensive if it will work on Linux or not. But it is working seamlessly on my Fedora 17 box. The software given on the Philips-CD partition of the GoGear Ariaz 16 GB installs with wine. But it is hardly needed. When connecting the device with USB, it is coming up with option of transfer and play. Working absolutely nice.
