Philips HD2386/20 (Panini Maker) Sandwich Maker

I got this product delivered yesterday. As usual Flipkart is spot on with packaging and delivery

About the product:
Looks very elegant and premium product. High grade materials used and surely worth the money.

Very easy to make sandwiches. The toasting is crisp and even. Also easy to wipe and clean.

But One let down is that it does not have a cut and seal plate attachment. Morphy Richards SM3006 G has this attachment at a lesser cost.

Also don't get mislead by the chord winder thing. It is not a automatic winder it is just a feature to coil the power chord manually. The length of the power chord is also too short and I found it difficult to use it placing on the dining table.

I would suggest taking a look at other brands which offer more features at lesser cost.

Ordered this and was promptly delivered the next day. As most reviews already highlight - excellent packaging and superior customer service by flipkart.

About the product:
Pros: -
1. High quality grill plates
2. Very efficient & quick heating given that power usage is 700W
3. Makes great panini sandwiches, crisp and evenly grilled

Cons: -
1. Short electrical cord, could be a foot longer for convenience.
2. Slightly more expensive than competitive brands but no
compromise on product quality.
3. Grill plates could be made slightly bigger (probably making
it bigger may affect efficiency given that this is 700W only)

Since the product is new, cannot comment much on reliability and
performance as it gets older with frequent usage but Philips
being an internationally renowned brand, hoping the product will
last well for long and perform the same.

The product was much debated before I actually took the decision of buying it.

Delivered in a day!

I felt good using it and believe me, an ultimate money saver.. My stuffing was in the Fridge since a full night and half of the day. Pretty chilled up!

I directly applied it on a piece of bread, covered it and put 2 sets in it. 2-3 minutes and it was smoking hot, completely grilled and the stuffing was hot from inside.

No cleaning problem. Just brushed with a dry cloth and it was cleaned! All oil had been soaked up whatever little I added.

The power cord is small, think around half a meter only but enough if you have a shelf in your kitchen with adjoining power points for mixi and other stuff, otherwise u will need extension chord rather than another product if you want a perfect griller :-)

For some time wife was contemplating to buy sandwich maker. Grill plates won over cut-and-seal plates and after seeing a few in a leading electronic/electrical store we decided on this model. However, Flipkart was offering it for less and being a regular Flipkart customer and gained their trust I bought it from Flipkart and saved me some money!
Now to the actual sandwich maker, it does what it is supposed to do!. Been having great panini sandwiches at home after getting it. Its easy to clean and also easy to store as it stands on its edge and saves space. The electrical cord can be wound at the bottom of sandwich maker. The only complaint is that the electrical cord is a bit short.
All in all a good buy. Thanks to Flipkart as well.
