Philips HD4908 Induction Cook Top

I was breaking my head for 2 days trying to find out the difference between the 3 models of Induction Stove that Philips is offering.I went to all websites including Flipkart, no use. I went to ezone and few more showrooms, no use. Finally I called up Philips. They gave me a shock - All three models are exactly same technically. The top model has a bigger ceramic plate for aesthetics which is understood but between 4907 and 4908, there is a small difference in size. I do not think that is a good reason to have 2 models. And then the Price difference of 500 bucks! Now that 4908 comes with a free gift, it is worth going for else 4907 is much better.

I got this info with great difficulty and thought I will share this to you all.

Serial no. on carton & cooker unit don't match. Model & serial no.details are on PAPER STICKER which can be removed/repasted easily.Unit manufactured by THIRD PARTY only.
Supplied fry pan is also replica of its carton. Brandless,model less & Serial no. less unit. Here, paper sticker seems to have been missed out by the packer.
It seems ORIGINAL taken out from both the cartons & REPLICA put in. UNUSED, so no ratings please.

I am bachelor engaged in govt. service. I was in need of a good induction cook top which can full fill my needs. I saw this product on flipkart and then googled this product to get its review. Everyone was praising this product except very few people. Finally I ordered this one and got it in 2 days (thanx to the flawless shipping from flipkart). This cooktop has got an excellent look. I was really amazed to see the design of the cooktop. Also flipkart is giving DIVA non-stick pan (mfg. by Philps) so you dont have to shell bucks out of your pocket to get a non-stick pan. It works very well. Equipped with 6 preset menu, you dont have to think too much what temp. you have to set and for how much time. Just select the preset and voila you are done. Cleaning is not at all a problem, just clean the surface with a damp cloth, thats it !!! Overall its a really great product to buy if you are a bachelor or you are searching for an alternative to LPG owing to the soaring prices :)

I bought this product about 2 months back and have checked it out thoroughly. The best function in this is the ‘Pause’ button. You can stop cooking the moment it is about to spill over and restart again at the same temp or wattage setting , unlike other cook tops in which it restarts all over again. The preset cooking menus are generally useless, but it gives you an insight to what wattage is the best suited. The appliance got overheated with a flat pure Iron tawa, and gave an error message, which saved it from fault. I have heard of cook tops getting cracked glass top when they get overheated in such circumstances. So this is a good function to save the device. 1800 watts would have been sufficient but it has 2100 watts so there is nothing to lose, as nothing is higher than this wattage in the market. I would definitely recommend this product.

I was looking for cooktops and had done a fair amount of comparing and analysis before finalizing this one.

I have been using this cooktop for a week now and fount it extremely easy and efficient to use. The machine looks really nice and handy. It attains high temperatures very quickly since it is a powerful 2100 W machine. Although, I would suggest that for bachelors, a 1600 W machine would be sufficient. It came with a nice frying pan and I additionally bought a induction base pressure cooker and a induction base utensil(for tea and stuff) which basically completes the whole cooking set. I can cook anything and everything quickly with my Philips cooktop :)

I was delighted to feel the quality of the product. Its a beautiful white design. After cooking clean the surface with a cloth and you are done! All in all its a wonderful product.

Product cons:
Its not actually a con but it is slightly costly being a 2100 W powerful machine. If you r a bachelor and r not looking for heavy duty cooking- go for 1600 W models which r cheaper.
