Excellent induction cook top and Flipkart rocks

It's a great looking induction cooktop with superb built quality. The plastic is stiff, buttons are firm, easy operating and the glass top is beautiful. The fan at the bottom is almost silent which I think is the biggest plus. A bit costly than alternatives but it is worth the price difference you pay when compared on quality.

Flipkart as usual is great. Good packaging and swiftly delivery. A recommended purchase.

Excellent Induction Cooktop

This induction cooktop is just what we needed. It has all the presets that we can use in our daily cooking. Pause/resume and the auto stop functions are very useful. It has excellent looks and feel. The product feels sturdy too.

Also, flipkart delivered it super fast in a good packaged condition.

Flipkart charged Rs 2,656/- + 1 tawa they gave free along with this.

Don't buy it

Its been a month already, my experience is not so pleasant. Here are the details. I earlier used TCL induction coocktop which lasted for 6 years then just before a month it died on me, so decided to buy this crap.

THE BODY: Its look so good and stylish, but not sleek, its above 3 inch in height, the only reason I brought Philips is that quality they provide. The ceramic plate is wide and the touch buttons are great.

THE REAL DEAL: This coocktop is starts very slow, for example if U set 100C to 400C its takes lot of seconds to shoot. The pre settings are no use all look alike except the vo...

The pre settings are no use all look alike except the voltage and heat settings(U can do it manually)

After first use I immediately started to realize that this is poorly mechanized. If U cook rice at first U need high heat at the end U need to sim the heat in order to finish the rice. But there is no way U can set sim, the lowest is 120W and 80C. If U set the lowest U won't see "anything happening" if U set 160 W same result, but if U set 180W it immediately burns the pot. I tried different methods and setting on the panel but all are same.
The main problem starts when U cooking curry, rice is different where U use lot of water, but to coock curry Ur going to start with oil, this thing just don't do anything at low settings, if U increase just one point say 180 to 200W then everything begins to burn. U will get crazy while cooking the curries, at first I thought my mom of cooking badly butone day I was alone and I had cook something then I realized how bad it is for curries, every time in chicken cooking 30-40% chicken is either not properly cooked or burned. U have to continuesouly stir the curry to save it from burning, what a messsssss;;;

This product comes with "suitable for Indian coocking" tag so they included "dosa/roti" option on the panel, I used to do Omelets and dosa on the previous TCL coocktop but this one is a mess, while doing my very first roti it stops after every 3-5 seconds(U can hear the click sounds) then it won't heat the pan, it took me 15 minutes just to see half baked "roti" then to realize that this is not suitable for anything like roti/dosa/omlet/plain fry etc.

Its completely disappointing with it, later I brought "electric cooker" so I don't know what to do with this stupid Philips, since it is only suitable for "water cooking" I feel like stupid.

I thought to give U a video link, but trust me its extremely frustrating to even video shoot this thing, I miss my old TCL coocktop, I could have repaired it, instead of purchasing this piece of crap.
(I can give 4 stars to the quality but for the performance "I give 0"

Good buy!

Flipkart:-
1) Before time delivery. They have their own logistics, which is very good.
2) Excellent packaging, no crack on glass top.

Philips HD4928 Induction Cook Top:-

Pros:-

1) Sleek and sexy design.
2) Easy to cook at different temperatures, cooks faster compared to stove and gas.
3) Good for beginners, but the temperatures in the preset menus don't always work best for you.
4) "Timer" and "Pause" features are very helpful. The "timer" feature automatically turns off the device after a manually pre-specified time. The "pause" feature helps to p...

Cons:-

1) Rotis don't cook so well in the sides, as the heating rim heats well only in the center and not so well on the circumference.

Additionally, you could buy a pressure cooker and a tawa for your daily cooking needs.
I would suggest you to go for this product. I searched and reviewed all the different available options, and ultimately found this one to be the best.

Philips HD4928 Induction Cook Top Review

My previous review is down below for reference.

Ok, so I bought this around 5 months back and have spent a fair amount of time with this item. Here are a few of my observations:
1) I here a faint metallic rattling noise. Not quite sure what it is. No loose parts when shaken so I'm guessing it must be the normal sound that occurs when its being used.
2) The glass gets stained. For some reason even after wiping the glass top with a moist cloth (when cooled obviously) I still see faint stains. Not sure why but they are there.
3) On the up side, though, this is a very easy-2-clean item. Just w...

3) On the up side, though, this is a very easy-2-clean item. Just wipe it off gently and it all goes away. :-)
4) I stand by my previous opinion. This cooktop is better operated manually. The Roti/Dosa button has yet to see any use. Same for the gravy and stir-fry. A temp/power of 130 C/800 W is more than enough. Rarely have I gone over that.

All in all, great product. Worth it. Hope this helps.

------------------
First of all I'd just like to say that I got this earlier than I expected. Kudos to Flipkart for that. The product was delivered in an amazing condition. The bubble wrap sure helped guard it from any bumps along the way. No shaky parts at all.

I'm no great cook, infact no cook at all. Will learn to cook on this. The cooktop heats fast. You really gotta keep an eye on things or u can burn them fast. Manual operation of this seems more reliable, but then again, that's just my opinion and I haven't gotten round to trying all the modes.

That's all for now. Will post more of my experiences as they come along.

The Best

I bought it after waiting for at least 6 months and trying to find out the best in lowest price. Earlier, I had decided for Hd4929, then switched to it because of better looks and higher ratings..Now that I have used it for more than 8 months, I can safely say that it is very robust in build qual... Good Deal

comparing the fuel cost, i planned for this, now this works for my home need. also not much consumption on electricity as its been 3 months of purchase. i believe not more than Rs.100 per month would have gone to this. Great job Flipkart for the Instant & SPEED Delivery (View complete review)
