Philips HQ912 2 Headed Shaver

Only one drawback - its not water proof in the real sense. So one cannot take literally "under the shower" as one can with some high-end shavers.

That apart, it offers excellent price-performance balance. Owing to a rather long period of no-grooming due to a recent spinal problem I faced, I wanted a convenient shaving option and opted for this after much in-depth research (interpret: "I am very value-for-money a.k.a. VFM conscious").

All I needed was to wet my scrawny face to lubricate my believe-it-or-not, near 15 day old stubble and it gave me back my original smooth look. For stubble that's a many days old, wetting is a must-do because otherwise, it hurts. With, it's a near breeze.

That said, precisely for reasons one never compares a Lenovo (say) with a Mac (say), one never pitches a Philips HQ912 against say, a Braun Cruzer 6... or the likes of it.

If however, you are on a conservative budget OR/AND you are a first timer and hence wish to be cautious with your investment, this is one of, if not "the" very best. NO DOUBT.

Caution:
1) ALWAYS be hygiene conscious and clean-up the shaver's attachments regularly (does NOT translate to every time either!).
2) ALWAYS use good quality pre and post shaving lubricants.
3) Do NOT shave after a full face wash with soap & water because it tends to swell up the skin (due to osmosis) and that does NOT give very comfortable shaves.
4)It's a common and very wrong myth that electric shavers do not work for 24-hr beards. Today's technology is radically different from yestyears!

As goes Flipkart service, leave customers, I am sure they themselves are sick to death with the accolades they so regularly receive. If they weren't so good, I wouldn't be such a regular shopper with them anyhow!

I gave the model number in the title, as sometimes flipkart posts reviews of some other model for another model! I bought this shaver from flipkart some days back.

If you are looking for a shaver with trimmer, this is NOT for you. It has NO trimmer. It looks expensive and build quality is good. This shaver is suitable only for daily shaver or those who shave every three or four days. The charger looks lovely; it looks like those rectangular nokia mobile chargers, and length of cord is quite long in my opinion.

I tested the shaver on four days old mustache and hair on my chin that is the size of my lips. I don't have heavy beard. It took three minutes to shave it clean. Shaver run time is 30 minutes after full charge. So, if i charge it fully and shave daily for 3 minutes, i can use it for 10 days without charging.

Recommendation: Don't throw away the original philips packaging, as this will come handy for storage during travelling. I threw mine away and now regretting it. You may make your own storage box using styrofoam.

Final verdict: Nice product. Go for it if you are a regular shaver.

Cons: Shaving head protector comes off easily with a slight push. If you put the shaver with the caps on in a bag during travel and it comes to contact with other things and there is some friction, the protector cap is sure to come off. So, the shaving head protector cap is quite useless.
I don't like the design as when the shaver is laid on a surface, it doesn't stay flat like mobile on a surface. End.

This is my first review on the flipkart. I've been buying things on flipkart since 1.5 years. Flipkart has never dis-satisfied me in terms of timely supply. Thanks and hats of to the flipkart and its team.
Regarding the product, i would say it worked ok for me. I've very hard beard and i used the product on 7 days grown beard as well as one day grown beard. Results are all most same as we get from a regular razor.
The worst part of the product is its battery lift. It takes almost 15-20 mins to do the complete shave properly, the battery life of the product is 30 min only (after recharging of 8 hrs). If you have one week grown beard then it will take almost 20-30 mins. It should have the feature of using with or without battery also.
Other than the battery problem, i think it's a good choice only with such a low cost. There is no chance of you getting hurt by the shaver, so don't worry about that (for first timers only).

i bought it few weeks back...
got it delivered on 3rd day in a small packet with bubble pack and all. content was a bill and shaver.
its a good product, just move it around and it will do its work, but u will need to see as sometime it left hair...battery is good i have not charged it second time now and still it seems to be good.

pros:washable, good battery, stores all the hair within itself
cons:take 8 hour to charge fully, cannot be used on heavy beard (say around 10 day old), takes time for skin to get used to the product
