Philips SHM3100U Headset

yes, iam feeling lucky that i used flipkart to buy these headphones. As i was looking for a pc headphone with low profile and compact microphone in use with online games and multimedia recordings(just for fun)and skype.
conclusions on product-
1 because it has a larger driver than most of the in ear sets, it is capable of producing above medium performance but not so equal to 2ooo/-Rs stuffs.
2 very comfortable than in ear or covering your ear models.
3 microphone is so clear but uni directional.
4 ample length of cable gives you better pc experience but bad for mobiles.
5 quality of bass output is not shaken even at extreme volumes and increased bass settings,and by the way the volume output on these are above than any other headsets or cover the ear models(not a problem for windows vista or 7 users, but very thoughtful for mobile or older windows or other devices), so go for it if you like more of it:D
6 at this rate this product is a LEGAL ROBBERY FROM FLIPKART.;)

1. The buds DON'T FIT into my ear auricle. My ears are small I agree but they of-course are like one of the many normal ear shapes. Moreover, I have used earphones of similar design earlier ( those of my SAMSUNG GURU GT-C1410 Music Phone 2 years ago - which were very comfortable and of very high quality music quality as well ) So very UNERGONOMICAL EARBUD DESIGN I feel. Even if I adjust them into my ears, they are REALLY VERY VERY VERY UNCOMFORTABLE and PAINFUL.

2. Very Very bad music output and quality - similar to that of what people usually get in a 75 or 100 rupees earphones. My " iBall i333 On-The-Ear " headphones which cost 170 rupees sound better than these, i feel. I expect better quality from the product I have paid more for.

3. Very bad build-material, specifically of the ear-buds.

CONCLUSION : Very uncomforatble to wear and bad sound output and music quality. The original Samsung Champ Earphones with 3.5 mm universal pin - usable on computers and other multimedia devices as well - which cost only 350 rs if bought separately, are far far better than these.
Not worth the price, I feel.

This is a wonderful piece and can cater well to your average audio requirements. The sound quality is real good and the earphones can be plugged into your ears for long durations without getting uncomfortable.

The mircrophone is also of a very good quality producing good voice recordings on the computer. It works well with most chat messengers such as Skype and Yahoo among others.

This set has two 3.5mm connectors, one for audio and another for the mic. Thus, it cannot be used as a replacement for mobile earphones as u cant plugin both the jacks into the phone's one 3.5mm plug. You can use it on your mobile phone for hearing audio files but not for speaking purpose.

Everyone looking for headphones in the price range of below Rs 500 should only buy these headphones. The sound is so clear and crisp , bass is balanced, treble is amazing. If u are watching a movie which has a lot of gunfire and action then sometimes u cannot hear what the characters in the movie are saying because of all that action . But with these headphones i was able to clearly hear all the dialogues amidst the action and gunfire. All of guys try watching transformers 1 ending action sequence with these headphones and u would know how amzing these headphones are. The only minus point of these headphones is that there is no volume control on them apart from that everything is just awesome. I was using the Turtle Beach Earforce X12 Headphones with my pc which are among the best headphones in the world but they were very heavy and i had to remove them after a while cause my ears started paining so i needed very light but good sound quality headphones and Philips SHM3100U fulfilled my expectations perfectly. And the microphone is the best i have used in my life in this price range. So this is the overall review of Philips SHM3100U

So Honestly Guys i dont think u could get any better than this in this price range. So stop having any second thoughts and hit that buy now button.

I have been using the headphones for a couple of weeks, and must say that I am mostly impressed. The highs and the bass are wonderfully reproduced, with my rediscovering some instruments I forgot having ever heard on some of my favourite songs. I have used dedicated earphones several times this price and got comparable, and at times even poorer sound.

The microphone, unfortunately, although of acceptable quality fails to live up to the stellar performance of the earpiece. The sensitivity is ok, but there seems to be a bit of echo issues. Background noise catches on quite a bit as well.

Also the earpieces are a bit large for small to medium ears. Works fine for me, but my sister had a bit of trouble fitting them.

The long cable would have to be a mixed response thing. While I love it, it might get to be a tangly mess, if you're not careful.

P.S. If only it had a mobile adapter, but this ain't Utopia. you get what you pay for.
