Philips SHP1800

I've been using the headphone for more than 2 months now. I'm very particular about the quality of music (the other earphones I have is Sennheiser CX 180). I was looking for a headphone for use on PC with a decent cord length, above average sound quality and preferably from a good brand. Philips SHP1800 is perfect for me and meets all my above mentioned requirements.
Some people have mentioned that the sound is gets distorted when the music is too loud. One thing I have noticed, if you lower the system volume on PC and increase it from VLC, there is a slight distortion. I increased the system volume to full and decreased it from VLC player, bringing it back to the same volume level and now the sound was once again crystal clear.
I feel that extra amplified signals get distorted, but when you play at a normal sound level (which is still loud enough) the sound is amazing.
But a Philips headphone at this price with the amazing sound quality, I couldn't have asked for more... Go for it...

The chord , the chord will blow you away. At first u'll feel a bit unsure about ur purchase, but watch the chord puzzle unsolve itself and reveal the total length.

If you live on the second floor, you can plug it in ur lappy/PC/TV and travel down to ur neighbor on the ground floor and still have some of the length left to be spread out.

WOW!!

The sound quality is superb. I had no issues with it. Hear hip-hop/rap - the likes of biggie, pac, chino XL , jazz , beethoven ,metallica, foster the people and had no problems with the sound at all. Even the likes of Combichrist and Slipknot sound awsome. It comes with a volume control which is very convenient use.

It also comes with a 3.5mm to 6.3 mm adapter. This is a treat. Simply plug ur headset to the adapter and plug the adapter jack wherever you want to.

The microphone is a blessing. I'm amazed at the quality of the microphone.

A perfect one, just get it. Only problem you can face is the ultra long chord, but yes, other than that, no issues Sir, no issues at all.

I VE ORDERD THS HEADSET WITH GREAT EXPCTATIONS AS OF THE NAME PHILIPS ...BUT VERY DISAPOINTING.....AT THIS PRICE A LOCAL HEADSET WOULD GVE MORE CLARITY SOUNDS AND A HIGHR VOLUME...BUT THIS ONE ITS A PURE WASTE OF MONEY....FLIPKART SERVCE WAS GUD ... GUYS IF U HAVE HAVE ANY PREASSMPTNS OF THE HEADSET COZ OF THE NAME ...IT GONNA LOOSE U MONEY...I WILL NEVER SUGGST TO BUY THIS ONE.....
sound loud and clear but volume control creates problems,one of the sides has lesser volume than another,,much less bass as compared to other headphones in this range.....)
1. Very very poor base....frequencies below 80Hz aren't even audible!!
2. Trebles get distorted at high volumes
3. ZERO noise insulation....i can hear everything outside nice and clear
4. Uncomfortable to wear (atleast for me), plus ears start to itch after some time.
5. Very flimpsy and easy to break

PEOPLE!! if you want a decent pair of cheap headphones, just close your eyes and buy the Philips SHP 2000. Worth every rupee spent on it. I've been using them for 4 yeras now, and they still work perfectly. Very good quality construction too :)

got mine this evening earlier than promised by flipkart.Good headphones tat could be used for viewing movies,watching tv.good thing is the 6m cable and the 6.5mm converter.go for it if u want a headphone mainly for viewing films and watching tv without disturbing others

I purchased this @ INR 375...just last November....firstly
Flipkart is true to it's word....Perfect Packaging, perfect timing , never crossed the deadline...

PROS
1. great bass
2. perfect treble
3. highly distinct sound
4. long wear(no irritation absolutely)

N.B. the long cord is a nuisance while gaming...but u could bundle and tie it up!

CONS
1. much sound leakage
2. keeps outside sound moderately out

my luck was always bad with head/earphones...i bought this for the low price and
+ve reviews...i used Sony and sennheiser previously and wasn't happy with the idea for buying it but trust me it's almost three months and WHAT SOUND AT SUCH LOW PRICE!!!

now i'm a Philips fan!
