Flipkart is Flipkart. Timely delivery. Some would say too soon. Got the book on the 2nd day from the date of ordering. Great condition...wid a pretty bookmark too :)
About the book. It is a complete reference. You will have a tough time if you plan to learn PHP from scratch then you should look at something else, although I know a couple of people who did learn it using the same book. BUT, if you already know the basics then this book is all you want.
PHP: Complete Referenced is detailed. Detailed to the limit that it might be difficult to track down something in particular. But that is because of the language and I doubt you will find a book that is detailed and "organised".
In Short, go for this book if you know the basics of the language. You will not find a better reference guide anywhere. But if you plan to learn the language from step 1 then you will need a Beginners Edition of some kind.
The book assumes that you DO NOT know anything about PHP. IT doesn't even assumes that you know any of the basic programming languages too. Book is fairly written, writing style is not the best but is quite useful for the context.
The author has taken enough pain to give examples of EVERYTHING, almost, which makes the book great as you don't need to try 'what happens with what code' every now and then with your machine.
Just one thing, the book might not be up to the title: The Complete 'Reference', its something lesser. Like a 'Starter' or 'Guide'.
First of all many many thanks to Flipkart for their prompt services. I have gone through the book and must say it's thoroughly detailed and covers every aspect of this vast subject. BUT the book does lack organization in categorizing and properly stepping the methods and hence might get confusing for newbies. Overall, I give it a 4/5 stars. Matter is exceptional, but there is room to improve the presentation :)
I have these book, though i didn't purchased it from flipkart. I will recommend these book for all, who wants to learn PHP. The writing technique and style of these is very good. The examples, programs of these book are also very good. The most important thing i want to tell, that these book contains all most full AJAX. Before buying you may go for a Google preview. (Remember Google preview doesn't show you all the pages)
Most recommended book for beginners, very easy and helpful.
