Filpkart Official Review

Cricket in our country goes hand in hand with almost everything. This could not be truer. Sports and management anyway have a very close connection when it comes to strategy, planning and also how to be successful at both.

Pitch It by Dev Prasad reaffirms this in a very skilful manner. Dev links the lives of top cricketing legends and corporate moguls and arrives at uncanny similarities through their professional approach to situations on the field and the in the board room.

The writing is crisp and engaging. The reader would never get bored with this one. The good part is that it takes into account in equal measures both the management side of things in the board room and on the field. If you are inclined towards either or both, then this book is for you. A good read full of anecdotes and situations that need to be dealt with using tact and intelligence.

Simple, Informative and Interesting!

Very nicely done, drawing a parallel between cricket and corporate. The book has many interesting Anecdotes, facts and gives insight into Cricket Dressing Rooms and Corporate Board Rooms. The books captures nice n simple, the similarities between Cricketing legends and Corporate Honchos who are so different in what they have to achieve and yet so similar in achieving it. The timing of this books cannot be more perfect, while many our favorite cricketers retiring, it is nice to relive those moments once again through this book.

A Must Read!

A good thought of co-positioning of cricketers winning strategies with corporate management

Superb, consists stories from cricket and draws analogies with equally inspirational corporate anecdotes. It has corporate case studies from an eclectic spectrum of industries, ranging from IT, Consumer Goods, Automotive, Aerospace to Banking, Petrochemicals, Food & Beverages. here in this book, Dev tried his best to co-position the winning strategies followed by the cricket stalwarts with corporate management. It is superb if one reads "Pitch It" book along with Sumantra Ghoshal's "managing across borders" book.

Pitch It ! is an Management Book, but you don’t get bored with many management jargons as it is having analogies with most lovable game Cricket!!!!! People can never forget the incidents of cricket, So recalling them and relating to Management case studies is just eye opening…. Nicely captured many memorable incidents of cricket and Management wining stories within a book with an apt cover page, great piece of work.

Perfect Match !!!

For our country where cricket is a religion - eposides from it are something which we relate to easily and with this book we now have a corresponding associated management story and an insight - what an excellent combination.
Dev Prasad has blended these 2 perspectives well into each of the 60 episdoes. The book is an easy read with no complicated jargons, can be read from any chapter without any loss of continuity.
A must read for everyone !!
