Advances made in the field of molecular biology during the last two and half decades has resulted in a lot of changes in the taxonomy and nomenlcature of fungi, bacteria and viruses. Many new plant diseases cuased by fungi, becteria, viruses and protozoa have also been described during this period. Keeping these advanes in view, an annotated list of different plant pathogens, diseases and their vectors is presented for a ready reference in this book. It contains an alphabetical arrangement of 1628 fungal pathogens, 234 bacterial pathogens, 191 phytoplasma diseases, 905 plant virussspecies and satellite RNAs, 36 viroids, 159 nematodes, 123phanerognaic parasites, 10 parastic algae, 11 flagellate protozoa, 139 disorders of plants and 51 palnt diseases and disorders of unknonw etiology.
