About Author :
The author obtained first class first in M.Sc from the University of Burdwan and later did PhD from the University of Calcutta, Kolkata. He has published over 60 scientific papers and reviews in national and international journals and over 100 popular articles of general interest. He has been associated with many scientific organisations and institutions like DBT, DST and NAAS in various capacities and is a Fellow of the National Acade3ny of Sciences.
