Pliny's Letters

1872. Pliny the younger witnessed the great eruption of Vesuvius. In the following year he commenced practice as an advocate in Rome. For a short time he served as a military tribune in Syria. Returning to Rome, he was made Quaestor and then Paretor. He was also Consul.
