This book was originally printed and distributed to teachers by the School District of Philadelphia before becoming a printed book. The author is well-known throughout the Mid-Atlantic region from the numerous workshops he has given. He was awarded a Pennsylvania Council on the Arts Fellowship for Poetry in 1990.
