Poetry In Emotion: Reflections Of The Past

Valdemar was born in Oakdale, California, on October 31, 1975. Shortly thereafter, his family relocated to Livingston, where he was raised. There he attended elementary school and graduated from Livingston High School in 1993. He went on to Merced College and then transferred to California State University Stanislaus. It was in college that he began to write poetry. He graduated in 1999 with a degree in Organizational Communications. After graduation, he decided to get into education, beginning as a substitute teacher. This gave him more time to pursue his writing, where he realized the healing power of being able to express his emotions through the written word. He is now an adult education instructor teaching GED courses in Livingston, where he still lives.
