About the Author

Deepak Gandhi is a management consultant, speaker and teacher, with an abiding interest in the social sector. In a pro- fessional career spanning three decades, he has worked with NDDB, Tata Steel and UNDP. Deepak currently divides his time between India and Canada.

Dee Gandhi is self-taught freelance photographer who practices ‘no price tag’ photography. He is currently making many many people happy with beautiful photographs and making enough ‘fair profit’ to quit the retrace.

This book Does NOT Connect the Dots.

Well, i ordered this book even before it was released. So, as usual FK did a great job in delivering the book on time that too with the limited edition Autographed by Rashmi Bhansal herself. But, the book turned out to be a BIG disappointment. Unlike the last 3 books of amazing success stories, this book is a re-creation of discovery channel episode on Dharavi. I finished the book in about 4.5 hours of time. Not for once was my adrenaline high.

If you like reading books, then probably go ah...

Welcome change, book is written in a simple form with beautiful pictures of Dharavi along with its most beautiful people, who are doing a great job quietly in Dharavi. Authors have done great job by showcasing some of the honest, passionate and focused people, who are not privileged to go to good schools/colleges/universities. A decent but very long and clumsy title.

The author is very well know for her two best sold books but this one is not upto the expectations. Moreover the contents of the sessions are missing, for which have been overwritten by addition of pictures. Looking for the brighter side, the reader has a good view of what actually is Dharavi, especially to those who are not aware about its facts.I personally am a great admirer of the author, but being honest to the other buyers, there are certain sections where the reader gets bored and want...

Poor Little Rich Slum

Thanks to flipkart for delivering in time. As regards to the Book, each one should read the book as this portrays positive face of Dharavi which is popularly known as slum area. The book gives insight to small entrepreneurs who are into various businesses and running successfully. One of the important aspects of Dharavi is that most of the people living there are reluctant to vacate / leave the place as they have one or the other emotional attachments. I really enjoyed reading this book.

Inspiring Book

This book is seriosuly awesome. We will find the success stories of so many people and you find stories of young entrepreneurs , activists like Jockin who won Magsaysay award, women activists and some brilliant ideas all from Asia's largest slum Dharavi . Seriously inspiring book. All these people have made it despite the hardships and limited resources they have are true heroes lot of inspiration to draw from these people from Dharavi.

Dharavi Life existance and Survival struggle

I ordered this book because i love to read realities. Book describes the Life of Dharavi and survival struggle. illustrated with real pictures. I feel there are many missing lifes,this book would have been much thicker if they have included them aswell. Pictures are beautiful but need to imagine where they will fit into.
Overall i rate this book 3
Flipkart delivered in 5 days.for it also 3. Normally i receive any book on 3rd day.

The book Poor Little Rich Slum has a great book and a new way of writing actually bit close to last book of rashmi bansal but the introduction to the book is outstanding truly amazing and this can change your view to the Dharavi its not just a slum but land to create many entrepreneur ...
